I‘m on an Ira Levin kick as I‘ve recommended A kiss before dying to my Bookclub. I absolutely loved Rosemary‘s baby and was intrigued to find out what might have happened to the devil child. Im torn between pan + pick here. It‘s well written and moves well until the end. What could have been a spectacular ending ended up a complete joke. Stephen Kings The dead zone is so much more frightening on this topic especially in this US election year.

BarbaraBB I didn‘t know there was a sequel to rosemary‘s baby! 8mo
EverydayImReading @BarbaraBB Neither did I until recently. TBH I‘d say no leave it at the very suspenseful creepy ending of Rosemarys baby. I‘m sorry I read this. The ending is ridiculous and could ruin it for you. It did for me. Saying that he‘s a great writer. A kiss before dying is spectacular. I‘m off to try This perfect day next. He was ahead of his time. This is a blip in the matrix. 8mo
BarbaraBB I also loved A Kiss Before Dying. I think I‘ll skip the sequel and stick with the creepy ending of 8mo

So apparently #EdgeOfSeventeenStevieNicks is about the deaths of her uncle and John Lennon which occurred in the same week. And for Rosemary it was all about The Dakota 😉
Maybe a bit of a stretch, but I think a lot of my choices this month are going to be. This month's challenge is a tough one 😅

Eggs How fascinating! Songs evoke lots of situational memories! Well done 👍🏼 🕊️🎶 1y

9-24-22: My 94th finished book of 2022! Sequel to Rosemary‘s Baby. And what a bizarre sequel it is. 1999 NYC Rosemary is reunited with her son after a very interesting lapse of time. The relationship between mother and son goes from sweet to strange pretty quickly. He is the son of Saran after all. There are a few surprises that worked but overall it felt rushed. If you are a fan of the first book it‘s worth a quick read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️📖#️⃣9️⃣4️⃣

GidgetsTreasures75 I forgot to mention the book was dedicated to Mia Farrow. I thought that was pretty cool. 2y

I am so mad that this was written, let alone published! Rosemary‘s Baby was an absolute masterpiece, so I was intrigued by this sequel written many years later. Complete drivel. Horrible plot. Terrible dialogue. I only kept reading for the “twist,” and literally threw it in disgust over the complete cop-out ending. Can‘t imagine why Levin even wrote this except as a money grab or because he hated Mia Farrow (to whom the book is dedicated). 1⭐️

Levin‘s sequel to Rosemary‘s Baby was a quick read. Some of the scenes between Rosemary and Andy were strange, and his ending made me say, “What?!?” A nightmare from HELL...🤯!

Finished this morning, so many things I read about this talked about the ending and I was underwhelmed. Even though it was written in 1997 which doesn't seem that long ago, the language somehow seemed dated. Too may "Oh darling!"s for my tastes I guess. Not terrible, a quick easy read but nothing to write home about.

I loved this book! The ending! My god, it was brilliant. I both hated it and loved it at the same time and that is EXACTLY what I wanted from it. Totally going to be one of the books I read more than once.
