I decided to give this one another shot since I previously put it in my DNF list. I typically enjoy books written in this format of letters, emails, and messages. It just seems to feel more personal. The problem for me was I didn't feel like I was rooting for the main characters. More than once I felt irritated on both the character's decisions. Also it seemed so long and drawn out in places. Then suddenly it would just blur right past others.

This is both her second novel and the second book I‘ve read by Cecilia Ahern. Initially I was annoyed with the style of conversations via emails and text because the messages were choppy. It was a little difficult to become engaged in the story. But I did enjoy this book and I really loved how she portrayed friendships and loyalty. I will reread this next year. #funread #ceciliaahern

Love, Rosie the movie: in comparison to the novel, instead of a span of 50 years, the end is reached in 12 years time frame. The movies ties in many of the communications from the book. The movie cuts about half of the plot out to meet the allotted time for a movie but that is what makes the movie better than the book. Love the soundtrack

Another time, another place I may have liked this book. But I can't finish it. This book is written as a series of communications such as email, letters, and cards about the life of Rosie. I purchased this book because I love the movie (movie review comparison coming after another viewing of the movie). But the book fails to develop any characters into someone worth fighting for (or in the matter: to keep reading). On to the next book...

1. Out of the books I've just read from my shelf, Archer from "The Reader".
2. When a character in a book repeats themselves a thousand times- Maze Runner, he couldn't remember anything, we knew by the tenth time. I have a soft spot for the broken and beaten books so many come messed up, torn, or written in into my house.
3. 1984 by George Orwell. Unfortunately that is not possible in this life.

Life is funny isn‘t it? Just when you think you‘ve got it all figured out, just when you finally begin to plan something, get excited about something, and feel like you know what direction you‘re heading in, the paths change, the signs change, the wind blows the other way, north is suddenly south, and east is west, and you‘re lost. It is so easy to lose your way, to lose direction.

O my gosh! I loved this book so much. It felt so real and the humour in the book is awesome. The writing style of the book is quite unique and I loved it. I'd totally recommend it someone who needs a nice, light, funny weekend read.

I love this book! I‘m sure I‘ll be reading it again someday. The lady protagonist is strong, feisty and witty, and hers is one of the best modern-day un-sappy love stories I‘ve come to know so far, told in an unusual narrative and form. “Magandang tanghali” means “good afternoon”, which I think is an awkward way to greet someone with in Tagalog on a postcard/letter. I would‘ve gone with “mabuhay!”, which means to say “live!”, as it‘s our more common welcome greeting to our visitors in the Philippines. Your goddaughter says she misses you very much, and she sends lots of drool and sloppy kisses your way. I think I could make out those words out of the screaming and wailing bellowing out of her tiny little mouth. She is the tiniest and most fragile little thing I have ever seen, sometimes I‘m afraid to hold her but then she opens her mouth and all hell breaks loose. The doctor says she‘s colicky. All I know is she doesn‘t stop screaming. #momlife
