Sock #1 is finished, a little big but it turned out pretty well for my first sock! Stoney is unimpressed. Yarn is Whimsical Woods Pixie Sock in "Cheshire Cat." #knittersoflitsy #catsoflitsy

Bookzombie Cute sock! 5y
rretzler 😻 I‘m halfway through my first sock and tired of the tiny little needles so I‘m taking a break from the sock with some blankets. Very nice sock! (edited) 5y
WhatWouldJaneDo @rretzler thanks! Small work like this definitely makes my hands get tired faster. Debating whether to start the mate or make a one skein cowl I just got supplies for next. 5y

Chrissyreadit It‘s pretty! Does it feel good? 5y
julesG @rretzler Knitting socks and then moving on to a project that requires larger needles always feels like knitting with tree trunks at the start. 5y
julesG Great achievement! Your first sock is looking good! 5y
rather_be_reading love it 😍 5y
rabbitprincess Awesome work! 😊 5y
rretzler @julesG 😂 I don‘t even mind the size 6s that I‘m using for a couple of other projects - the size 2s were driving me crazy because I had to pay too much attention! 5y
WhatWouldJaneDo @julesG right?! I've been using 1s for my socks and now I'm making a cowl on 6s and the gauge seems MASSIVE. 5y
WhatWouldJaneDo @Bookzombie @rather_be_reading @rabbitprincess thanks! @Chrissyreadit it feels pretty good, a bit looser around the heel than I was hoping but maybe if I wash them after I finish the second one they'll shape up a little. 5y

Knitting is the best way to lure Stoney onto my lap, and when Stoney is getting snuggles Polly has to get in on the action. #catsoflitsy

When the top of your sock is on a four round repeat and the sole is on a three round repeat... #knittersoflitsy

rather_be_reading what are those gadgets on your fingers? 5y
julesG @rather_be_reading row counters, I'd guess. 5y
WhatWouldJaneDo @julesG @rather_be_reading yep, the pink one is counting rows for the pattern on the top of the sock and the green one is counting my increase rows on the sole. 5y

julesG I admire this. I hate knitting socks. I make one pair per year. It's my perfectionism that makes me hate socks. I want them to be identical and get frustrated. It's stupid, I know, but I can't help it. 5y
WhatWouldJaneDo @julesG this is my first pair of socks (other than when, as a teenager when I was first starting to knit regularly, I started to make a pair out of some leftover boucle with no understanding of how yarn sizes worked and abandoned the project when it was obvious the "sock" was the size of a leg cast) but I figured if I can make gloves match up well enough it should be fine. It's still less stressful than matching up sleeves too! 5y
julesG Wristwarmers, sleeves, gloves, mittens, socks - I suffer from second 'sock' syndrome. My first pair of socks was so stiff, wrong yarn on too small DPNs, they could have doubled as shoes. 5y
