I got the whole Chronicles of Narnia series on audible and it started with this one. So fun to hear about how Narnia was created 🥰 This was a fun book! 🦁

A little Friday night reading 📖 I‘ve never read the entire Narnia series, and so far I‘m enjoying it a lot.🦁
When things once start going right they often go on getting better and better.
“When things once start going right they often go on getting better and better.” What a perfect quote from the first book of a truly amazing series. This is a book for all ages as long as their imagination is vast and they long for wonderful adventures. Digory‘s story shows that who one puts their trust in and who they choose to respect or fear will determine which path in life they will take. #narnia #52challenge
Re reading one of my favorite childhood series from the beginning, 10/10.
My sisters and I shared a room for most of my childhood. And every night our dad would read fantasy stories. I best remember him reading The Chronicles of Narnia, and every other voice for Aslan sounds wrong to me after that. 😅
#SundayFunday Have a wonderful day, and remember to tag me so I can see your posts!
I am doing a re-read of the Chronicles of Narnia for Christmas, it has been awhile since I have read them. I enjoyed this book a lot. I rated this book 4 out of 5 stars.
#wondrouswednesday Thanks @Eggs & @TheSpineView for the tag!
1) Jodi Taylor—I ❤️ how her books take a most hilarious jaunt through history. I think she‘d be a ton of fun
2) Litsy mainly, but also BookBub‘s notifications of discount books, and Amazon kindle unlimited and free Audible prime books
3) Not an unpredictable twist but I was shocked to learn how the tagged book set up The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. It was a wonderful surprise!
I‘ve started these complete works in audio (33 hours worth) and just finished the first book, The Magician‘s Nephew. I‘d only seen a few of the movies, so it was a complete delight to learn how Narnia came about, and the witch, and the wardrobe! Kenneth Branaugh read the first book and may I say, he did all the different animal voices spectacularly!! I‘m loving it so much so far!! #chunksterchallenge2022 @Amiable
"And so for a time it looked as if all the adventures were coming to and end; but that was not to be."
The Narnia chronicles are a classic series that encapsulates many elements of speculative fiction.
The Narnia series entails a world of fantasy in which children enter an alternate universe that involves magical powers supernatural creatures. The book is a classic tale and something that draws children in to reading.
Audible daily deal. Normally $59. Look at this cast!
Narrated by: Kenneth Branagh, Alex Jennings, Michael York, Lynn Redgrave, Derek Jacobi, Jeremy Northam, Patrick Stewart
Series: The Chronicles of Narnia (Publication Order), Book 1-7, The Chronicles of Narnia (Author's Preferred Order), Book 1-7
The first time I read The Magician‘s Nephew, I read it in chronological order, which means it was the first of the Narniad that I read. I liked learning about Narnia's beginning, but I thought the story was a little slow and boring. This second time around, I read The Magician‘s Nephew in published order, the sixth of seven books. I enjoyed the story more this time around because I had the other books still in my recent memory as I read it.
Better than I thought. On my way to the rest of the books.
I love this tale of how Narnia came about. One of my favorites. ❤️
Only one more book to go...
I‘ve been rereading this series for the first time in years, and I still love them.
I reread this classic in June and it‘s still a favorite and my favorite of the series.
Runner up was The Bohemians, a fictional account of the life of Dorothea Lange.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ◼️ This one made it to the top two favorites of this series. I know I was supposed to finish the #NarniaReadalong in July but life happened. #LitsyLove @CaffeineAndCandy thanks for hosting this. Here is my review… https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/3871079055
This is by far my favorite on the series. I loved rereading it and watching Diggory discover the consequences of his actions and the joys of helping others. I love the story, start to finish, and it was so fun to read with my daughter.
“Oh, Adam‘s sons, how cleverly you defend yourselves against all that might do you good!”
What do you suggest??
I decided to read these in publication order as I did as a child. Along the way I decided that may be it is best to read them in chronological order instead. I‘m debating with the exception of this book. I‘m wondering if it doesn‘t have more impact on me after having read all but The Last Battle. So maybe I‘d recommend reading them in chronological order except for this one - to be read right before The Last Battle.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ His writing is very Dreamy. This is my first CS Lewis book and I didn‘t know it was a Prequel and actually published later in the series. Quick read and interesting to see how the wardrobe came to be and how Narnia was created. Curious to read more from him
✨Starting the Narnia series for the first time✨
Took this on holiday to read to my 7 year old. My 12 and 13 year old decided to listen in as well. They were all hooked by the end of the first chapter and all 3 loved it.
Kenneth Branagh is a delight! The story may have been just OK, and again, heavy on the Christian undertones, but his narration was great! He gave the characters a wide variety of voices and really acted out the scenes. As a bit of a prequel to the series, this one still managed to feel fresh and moved at a good pace. The Magician was a shady fella but his nephew Digory seemed like a kid with a decent head on his shoulders.
When I first read The Chronicles, The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe was a clear favorite but I loved the series as a whole. Some of the books I remember clearly and others not so much. On this #reread, I think I have been enjoying the whole series just as much and some books more than before. This is one of those. This time, I noticed and considered more of the depth of the story.
#NarniaReadalong #audiobook
This is honestly one of my favourite books in the Chronicles of Narnia series. It tells the back story and the origin of Narnia, the Lamppost, and the Wardrobe.
I loved rereading this one!
#NarniaReadalong @CaffeineAndCandy
This may be my favorite of the series. I love everything about this one. ❤️
#NarniaReadalong @CaffeineAndCandy
A bit darker and a bit more critical of humanity as Lewis goes back to the beginning and tries to explain how humans ended up in Narnia‘s outer lands despite the fact that the original children were rare and had to come from our world, and how did the White Witch end up there, was she from there originally? I found his answers as interesting as some of the new plot holes he accidentally opened up, but I enjoyed it nevertheless.
#NarniaReadAlong
Not as far along as I‘d hoped to be for #JoysofJune Readathon but ahead on #NarniaReadalong as I just couldn‘t wait to read The Magician‘s Nephew, my favorite of the series. I just love it and could read it again and again.
#Horse #CuriousCovers
A particular favourite of mine, the founding of Narnia. This is my favourite book in the series but seems to often be overlooked for others.

The full series is listed as one, 33-hour audiobook on Audible so of course I decided to download it and listen to it. I‘ve never read these books (though I have tried) & am definitely enjoying listening to the stories.

Finally read my number from Feb AND catching up with the #narniareadalong ! Tbh I have to admit I‘ve only watched the movies and not read the books 🙈😅
So in that sense, I felt the book was a bit repetitive but oh to be back in Narnia again! 🥰
Rating: 3.5/5
Book description ⬇️
Sorry for the crazy picture, but this is how we just finished this book, snuggled up on the couch from our most recent read-aloud. I love the story of how Narnia came into being. If you‘ve never read it, this is the origin story for the Chronicles of Narnia—one of my favorites in the series. Magical, funny, endearing...worth the quick read for sure. #fantasy #cslewis #readaloud
After being deceitfully coerced into traveling to another world, Digory and Polly find themselves among Narnia.
This was a good book and I‘m glad I started with it for the Narnia Chronicles despite my understanding that it was written after the other books. Here is my favorite written word of the book - a warning, of our future in a tyrannical run society...seems about right. Let‘s hope society has the will to change for the better and that the wicked people out there are stopped sooner rather than later which can come at great cost to society.

I've wanted to read this series for years. I'm glad I finally decided to start it.
This book has such wonderment and magic in its pages that I can understand the appeal across the years and generations.
I'm excited to continue my journey in Narnia.
