Allie Navarro can't wait to show her best friends the app she built at CodeGirls summer camp. CLICK'D pairs users based on common interests and sends them on a fun (and occasionally rule-breaking) scavenger hunt to find each other. And it's a hit. By the second day of school, everyone is talking about CLICK'D. Watching her app go viral is amazing. Leaderboards are filling up! Everyone's making new friends. And with all the data Allie is collecting, she has an even better shot at beating her archenemy, Nathan, at the upcoming youth coding competition. But when Allie discovers a glitch that threatens to expose everyone's secrets, she has to figure out how to make things right, even if that means sharing the computer lab with Nathan. Can Allie fix her app, stop it from doing any more damage, and win back the friends it hurt-all before she steps on stage to present CLICK'D to the judges? New York Times best-selling author Tamara Ireland Stone combines friendship, coding, and lots of popcorn in her fun and empowering middle-grade debut.

My 10 yo daughter and I finished our buddy read of this book. I thought it was very cute and great for anyone 8-13 yo. Allie goes to coding camp and develops an app that helps people make friends. When she returns to school, she releases it to her school mates. Then something goes wrong with the app, and Allie needs to fix it and make some decisions.

Peddler410 This is sitting on our bookshelf — since it first came out 🤦🏻‍♀️ We‘re a bit back logged. 5y
MicrobeMom @Peddler410 you will enjoy it. Very cute. 5y

This was a fun, easy book to read as an adult after my daughter was finished. I had lost my way with reading. Her and I are taking an online computer science class, and that new bond between us led right into a new one, reading together!!

This book was cute and I would absolutely suggest it to anyone wanting to show kids about what you can do with technology for the good of others!
I was disappointed that there was no actual code in the text because I think that would've made such an impact for the better! Also wish there would've been mentions of real life apps made for the good but still a solid book!
4/5 stars!

I don't normally read middle grade, but I love Tamara's words. Click'd is a quick and fun read with characters who were easy to root for.

A middle grade novel with good messages about friendship and being smart. I'm reviewing this tomorrow on the blog. I'd say a 4 star for middle grade readers & a 3 star for adults.

Peddler410 I'm curious...why the lower rating for adults? 7y
BethFishReads @Peddler410 somewhat predictable for more experienced readers 7y

Great book for young readers. A coder girl making a fun app, but gets herself in trouble when her app endangers her friends' personal info. Also, a lot of social responsibility. Definitely pick.

#TBRtemptation post 5! #BEA17 edition! This is a middle-grade book set for a September release. (This one's for the library's Youth Director, who hears good things about this.) Allie creates an app at Codegirls summer camp called CLICK'D. It pairs users based on interest & sends them on scavenger hunts. It goes viral at school, but a glitch can expose all users' secrets. She'll need rival Nathan's help. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎#Coale photobomb
