Cleaned and reorganized my daughter‘s room the other day. Made her a little reading corner next to her bookshelf. Caught her reading. She loves this cozy corner. #MomWin #RaisingReaders

When quiet is actually a good thing.

When twins actually sit within close proximity of each other and no one starts screaming, even when one is touching the other's book.

When miracles happen and you can continue reading your own book longer than five minutes, maybe even finish that chapter.

Toddler and pre-schooler books out of my son's shelves and on their way to the basement. My son is both elated and heartbroken, with angry sauce, that they are out of his room. Mostly he's unhappy he missed garage sale season. I'm not the one who would not let me do this before this morning, but, who I am but his lowly mother.

So much room for more books, though!

Reviewsbylola I plan on doing this soon too. It has to be while my kids are at school though. 😂 6y
tournevis @Reviewsbylola I'm not getting rid of them. Just.moving them out of the way. 6y
tournevis @Reviewsbylola He's eight. He doesn't need a book about colours. 6y

Reviewsbylola Yeah, that‘s about where we are too. My kids are younger but they have baby board books and stuff like that. 6y
quirkyreader Make a “time capsule” with all the books. 6y
tournevis @quirkyreader I make a time capsule of the books he favoured. Otherwise there would be way too many books to keep. 6y

I win at parenting today.

My son is developing his sense of privacy and indignation, so he put this sign on his door.

To be read:
No daddy and no mommy in my room please.
[Only for reading please!]

😉😊😉😊😉😊😉😊

Lcsmcat C‘est formidable! 6y
tournevis @Lcsmcat It's double sided, I just found out, when the sign fell off 10 min ago. The other side says 'Parents may enter'. 6y
Lcsmcat Even better! 6y

I checked library accounts while E was at school. She had 10 overdue books! There was one she was only halfway done with, so she read in the car all the way from the school to the library, and then stood next to the return slot, finishing the last few pages. 😂 #raisingreaders
