I picked up this short stack from my library‘s used book sale this weekend. I‘ve had the top and bottom books on my to read list for some time. Any you loved here?

I didn‘t post anything with this one because honestly, this book made me paranoid about all insects. Still recommend it for similar reasons why I recommended Wicked Plants. She gives all the information to give you an idea of the bug and how it‘s dangerous, without making it boring. If you‘re like me, prepare to be itchy throughout your read! #wickedbugs #wickedplantsseries #bugs #insects
Learned all about wicked plants 🪴 , now it‘s time to learn all about the wicked bugs! 🐜#wickedbugs #nature #bugs #amystewart #wickedplantsseries

Three #wicked books I have not read yet on my Kindle. Wicked Deep is on my #Scarathlon #TeamMonsterMash #TBR 🧟♀️🐺🐈⬛👻🎃🧛🏻
Who said romance is dead?
I HATE bugs (ESPECIALLY BUTTERFLIES) but I love learning about them, so this book was right up my alley. I now know more about mating habits of disgusting creepy crawlies than I ever needed to, & I'm here for it. Just in case you need something to keep you up at night, here's a fun fact. "It is estimated that there are ten quintillion insects alive on the planet right now, which means that for each one of us there are two hundred million of them."
This is an enjoyable yet morbidly engrossing read. It's simple with brief facts, just enough to give you the heebie-jeebies!
Rating: 4.5⭐

The Estonian edition!
Roundup of my second quarter of #Booked2018. I'm having so much fun with these prompts - I'd never have found the steampunk-title if it wasn't for this, and it's /so good!/
#Setoutdoors: Wicked Bugs
#Steampunk: Castle in the Stars
#Friendship: You're Welcome, Universe
#Floweroncover: The Belles
#RefugeeMC: Exit West
#Childhoodfavourite: Cykelmyggen Egon
On to the next one! ♥
The book that has people stop asking you want you are reading about. 🐞🐜🦗🕷🕸🦂
#Booked2018 - Environment/Set Outdoors
#ReadHarder - About Nature
#ERMadLibs - Plural noun
#MountTBR - Book 19
And now I can smell that noxious stink of a stink bug. 🤢
Seems appropriate for outside reading. 🐜 🐛 🕷
3rd book; about 6 hours of reading in.

Just received from UPS!
I live in a country where the only "dangerous" creature is the European Adder, which, honestly, is quite the opposite of dangerous. It's rarely lethal. A bite is painful, but that's mostly it. Given that, I had heard of maybe three of the creatures mentioned in this, yet it was /riveting/. Had a lot of "oh god everything is itchy get the creepy-crawly off me"-moments, but really, this was ridiculously interesting. My outdoors-read for #Booked2018
What a delightfully icky book . I knew I would LOVE it when I got to page 2 and read about the procreation habits of the African Bat Bug - and came across ( see what I did there ? 😆) the term “traumatic insemination” . ( which , by the way, would be a FANTASTIC name for a black metal band !! ) .
Spring has sprung and I'm sitting under the big tree that usually dumps big freaking bugs on me like it's its job, reading about bugs. I just flicked a tiny something off my arm. This is gonna suck. 🐛 😂
@TricksyTails You know you‘ve got me over here grinning like an even crazier person than I already am 🤣🤣🤣♥️♥️♥️♥️🖤🖤🖤🖤 I could hug you but I might squeeze the life out of you in my thanks & excitement!!! 🦋♥️🦖🧛🏻♀️🧛🏻♀️🤖🤖For-Ev-Errrrrr! #BabyChestBump #BeyondTheGrave #JaundiceTwins #ThugLife #Lmao I♥️♥️♥️♥️ You!!!!!
My wife was on a business trip, so I had to wait until tonight to give her these. We don't really do Valentine's Day, but I can't resist getting her a little gift each year. We ate some Korean BBQ and learned about evil bugs (and some amazing plants).
Catching up on @bookriot #riotgrams
Day 1: #shelfie
Here is a collection of my ever growing TBR shelves, including a small section for my boyfriend. Not pictured: the other two, completely full shelves. 😬
This was a fun, easy, and really informative audiobook. Although I could have done without listening to the chapter on human parasites immediately after breakfast… Highly recommend.
@janeycanuck Did you know planting geraniums can help with Japanese beetles? I sure didn't.
I just snapped up with book at the library sale and I'm obsessed.
I didn't intentionally pick this for #spookyoctober, but driving down the interstate listening to her talk about scorpions and assassin bugs is definitely not comforting reading. Fascinating, but not comforting.
Stewart's Wicked Bugs: Young Reader‘s Edition is a condensed version of Wicked Bugs: The Louse that Conquered Napoleon's Army and Other Diabolical Insects geared towards middle-aged readers. Replete with photos and beautiful pencil sketches, this book is divided into six sections, each ending in a specialised essay.
📚📚📚📚 Recommended. Packed full of neat facts and information, this book is sure to please any bug-lovers in the family
Apologies for the non-book related post. The worst part about this miserable heat is all the six legged f**kers who also want to come inside to more pleasant climates (and trust me, they're significantly less cute than ladybugs).
It's not because my house is dirty, I swear. They're all over both my jobs, too. 🤢
Not the only species where this is a problem.
After I fell in love with Wicked Plants, I plunged straight into this one. ... But I didn't make it past the chapter about bed bugs. I'm such a weakling when it comes to #creepycrawlies! I'm hoping to try again when I'm a bit braver, lol. #octphotochallenge
Such a fun read! Perfect to pick up and read selections from a bit at a time or to plow through in a night or two as I did.
Top notch illustrations and fascinating facts. A fun, quick read that I'm using as my science pick in the Book Riot 2016 Read Harder Challenge.
Books and Binx. Two of my favorite things.
