Personal traumas and phobias inspired some of his stories, with characters in despairing and difficult situations (and not always the happy endings Disney would have us believe). He even had a phobia of being falsely declared dead and buried alive, stories have it that he would prop up a note before falling asleep each night: "I only appear to be dead." #HistoryGetsLIT

I went to the LEGO store and spent some money and...look I got/made the cutest little book! ☺️

So, apparently outside of the major stories that he‘s known for, Hans Christian Andersen...was a pretty boring writer. I was not expecting that. I ended up flipping through and only reading the stories I knew or ones that sounded interesting or that I had the patience for. Otherwise it would probably have taken me years to finish going through the entire collection.

I WAS planning on going to see Love Simon and Tomb Raider today...But then I had to drive home in a storm last night. When I checked last night the forecast said it was supposed to rain all day today, too. That seems to have changed, but I decided to stick with staying in because I still need to finish putting my room together. For now, I try to get through some more fairy tales while I make lunch.

Starting this one before I go to bed. I love this edition because of the cover! It's soft and I love it!!!!! 😍

Made it to what is supposedly the "best" bookstore in Copenhagen this afternoon: Politikens Boghal! I picked up two new reads: Gather the Daughters and the short story collection, A Life of Adventure and Delight. I also bought a few bookish pins for my backpack ?. Here a picture of the English section; I loved looking at the different covers in the other parts of the store though! #bookstore
