⭐️ I have read this author before and enjoyed the books I read. I didn‘t realize this was her first book when I chose it. All I can say is I‘m sure glad this wasn‘t my first book of hers cause it was plain awful!

Thin. The plot was thin, the supernatural element thin, the book itself though that's not relevant. Meh.
I cannot figure this out! Over halfway through and I just keep adding characters to my list of suspects.
I haven't gotten much reading done in the past week, as I hosted Easter. Yep, that pile is left over mess. My son stayed with a friend last night, so my daughter and I are hanging out. She is watching people play with toys, so I am getting in a little reading time.
Yay! Opening day left me very happy! @kstadt929 #FunkoPopandBookSwap
A murder mystery with supernatural elements.
Kate returns to the small town where she grew up to care for her mother, who is rapidly succumbing to Alzheimer‘s. The night she arrives, a young girl is murdered in the same way as Kate‘s childhood friend, Del, whose murder was never solved.
This was a quick read! A decent story with twists, ghosts and scares. I definitely recommend giving this book a shot. I'm glad my book club chose this one! (Sorry im not in the mood to write a more detailed review!)
1. Playing supermarket sweep with my dad, running around collecting colored blocks, each with a different amount.
2. 2 sisters, 1 brother, 1 half brother and 2 step siblings.
3. I think a little over a month ago.

I've been absent for a minute. Busy things in life, you understand. But im back. Enjoying this book!
As Always, Jennifer McMahon delivered a chilling story with this one. I very thoroughly enjoyed the antics of the main characters Mother with the all too real struggle with Alzheimer's like symptoms. The whole story was full of twists and turns and I couldn't bring myself to put it down! I read this in one sitting. Definitely recommend.
This was decent — not great but good enough to qualify as a Pick. A quick and easy read and even I, who often can‘t guess whodunnit, figured this one out fairly easily.
Chilly day at the dunes, which means more reading time on the sand!
Look what came in the mail today from the lovely @MaleficentBookDragon 😄😄😄 Thank you, I loved your note and adorable wrapping paper!!! I'm very excited to try this author! My first Litsy #bookswap was a success! #marchmysterybookswap
⭐⭐⭐
This was the fourth book I've read by Jennifer McMahon. It wasn't my favorite...it took a good 50 pages before I started to enjoy the story...but, I did end up enjoying it overall. Despite a very unlikable main character, the book kept me reading til the end.
A supernatural, murder-mystery revolving around Kate, a woman who has returned home to care for her mother and winds up dealing with identical deaths, 30 years apart. It's fairly good, but didn't hold my attention much.
Pretty enjoyable quick read. Little supernatural mixed in with a mystery.
3.5/5
Starting this one next because it‘s almost midnight on Sunday and that‘s when you start reading new books right?
#Promises - #TuneIntoNovember - “Kate returns home to care for her sick mother when a young girl is murdered. This crime eerily resembles another from her childhood...More than just a #murder #mystery, this extraordinary #debutnovel written by #JenniferMcMahon, Promise Not to Tell, is a story of #friendship and #family, #devotion and #betrayal—tautly written, deeply insightful, beautifully evocative, and utterly unforgettable.” #TBR

I didn't see the ending coming at all, wow 😲
This book literally gave me chills. Extremely descriptive and haunting. I would definitely listen to this again.😳
I had some difficulty getting into this, not feeling too interested in a ghost known as Potato Girl, but I stuck with it and it drew me in fairly quickly. I think I've read 5-6 books by this author now and I enjoy her methods of weaving a past and present crime together. This book has a supernatural element, as some of her stories do. Ultimately it was a satisfying mystery, if not as creepy as some of her other stories, with a heroine I liked.
OK I read some short books and just ate a whole lot of pasta. I'm in my sweats and need to decide which one of these I should settle in for the night with?
What do you all suggest?

Christ on a Cracker, this chick can write some scary shit! First, The Winter People, now an urban legend about a Potato Girl? Way to go, Jennifer McMahon, you have officially creeped me out and won my allegiance for life!
Stopped by the library on my way home and picked up Jennifer McMahon's first book as well as The Lake of Dreams by Kim Edwards.
Awesome story. Scenes very realistic. Ghosts play a part in this.
I didn't enjoy this as much as The Winter People, but it was still a good, quick read. I kind of guessed the ending halfway through but that didn't take away from the story and suspense.
Jennifer McMahon doesn't disappoint! A fantastic mix of suspense/super-natural/whodunnit/romance/coming-of-age/drama. A quick but awesome read!
