Card catalog out in the wild .
A walk down memory lane. 😂
My favorite Christmas gift ever! My brother cleaned up and added a new top to this card catalog that had been sitting in my grandparent's barn for years. Warms my librarian heart.
So this is NOT a review for the tagged book! The book I‘m reviewing is not on Litsy! Which is a shame bc we really are it‘s intended audience. The book is The Card Catalog: Books, Cards, and Literary Treasures by the Library Of Congress. This one is really just for the nerdiest of all library nerds. Yes, hello! This book is literally a history of the library card catalog, especially in how it was/is used at the Library of Congress. It‘s great!
My husband‘s feeding his friend‘s cat, Tuba, while he‘s away & his house is absolutely fascinating. He‘s got this gorgeous, old card catalog, which of course I covet hardcore. The drawers, though? 😆😅 Check-out the labels: “drum stuff”, “picks”, “strings”, “cat stuff”, “weed stuff”, “gameboy”, “incense.”
I‘m dead. 💀
February Book Riot photo challenge, day 1 As much as I would have liked to offer a fancy angle of multiple shelves, they are too untidy, so here's your glimpse of the neatest shelf by my desk. #newbooks #backlist #riotgrams📚 #paperback #paperbacklove #discworld #theouroboroscycle #h2g2 #fairuse #deathpositive #loc #shelfie @bookriot #day1
Y'all, I am SO EXCITED because I BOUGHT THIS LAST WEEK!!!!!
I have wanted one of these since I was a kid and finally found this on Craigslist for an affordable price. (Well, affordable compared to every other one I've ever seen.) It weighs a ton (still in the back of my mom's minivan), & I think my mom is going to have it refinished as my Christmas present, a guy is coming over next week for an estimate.
If anyone would get this, it's you all!
