Book two in the Turners, this one was cute! It followed Jacks brother Georgie as he takes up a secretary job for a “mad” shut in. A bit of beauty and the beast

I love Cat Sebastian and the characters she writes. They are just so amazing! Lawrence, an Earl with worries about being mad, but has major anxiety and probably agoraphobia. And Georgie who is a conman that gets too close to his cons because he has such a caring heart. Ugh - I just adored these two so much!

This is a super fun historical queer romance with an excellent #audiobook narration! My second book by Cat Sebastian but certainly not my last. Georgie is a #bisexual swindler with a conscience raised in poverty, Lawrence is a gruff reluctant earl who's dealing with some mental health suff and internalized homophobia. When Georgie shows up at Lawrence's crumbling estate posing as his new secretary, sparks fly. #QueerBooks #BisexualBooks

Since my loan time ran out on the last #Romantsy #audiobook I was listening to (The Unhoneymooners by Cristina Lauren), I started this #queer one by Cat Sebastian in the meantime and it is also great! #QueerBooks

I‘m really like this #romantsy binge I‘m on. This was another M/M romance from Cat Sebastian, and was yet another winner. A main character has major anxiety that keeps him homebound and it was handled very well, and I‘m all about that good mental illness representation! There wasn‘t as much sexyfuntimes in this one, as the mc also believed that his attraction to men was madness, so there‘s a lot that‘s unpacked. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼1/2

1. I don't have a lot of food pictures. But I managed to find this flan picture from my most recent birthday.
2. I've only purchased Cat Sebastian books so far this year. 😅
3. I don't know, I think about 10-12. 🤷
4. Not particularly. I have some series. But they're just a hodge podge of new, used, hardback, paperback, etc.
5. Never been out of the country. This year will not likely change that, unfortunately.

Really enjoyed this one. The characters made me happy. The writing was great. The ending was satisfying. I appreciated the anxiety rep, which reminded me of myself. Definitely recommended for anyone looking for a good M/M historical romance. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

A great m/m #romantsy spin on Beauty and and Beast, but the "Beauty" character has the twisty past and the "Beast" character is a beautiful soul who is probably on the spectrum. A well written and cute romance with a dash of adventure in the end! I loved these characters and will be looking for more from Cat Sebastian, starting with the other two books in this series!

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! 😍

I don't love the cover, so I stupidly (so stupid!!) put off reading this OMGLOVE book.

A conman and a mad inventor fall in love set in the background of a mouldering castle. Great sexual tension, good amount of angst, & great personal journeys. And a dog! 🏰🐶

I think my @EclecticReaders friends would like this as a different style of romance. Highly recommend!

I must now read more Cat Sebastian!

I realized Ruin of a Rake was part of a series so I had to read the previous book. I liked this one. The characters were familiar. Georgie Turner is a conman and Lawrence Browne is a "mad" inventor. There are some steamy scenes ?

Highly inappropriate public transport reading!

Lawrence, reclusive Earl and scientist, keeps to his almost-derelict home in Cornwall, and has no need/desire to employ secretary/conman Georgie Turner. But he does. And many lives change in the process. It's a fun, light story, that deals with the main character's severe anxiety in a sensitive, understanding way.

And Yay for Sir Edward Standish (didn't see that coming!)

Reclusive scientist Lawrence's reaction, when a #beautifulstranger turns up in his office, claiming to be the secretary which the vicar had employed for him. As you do.

This will be my #lgbtqromance for #readharder, and so far it's quite fun! Though that's no way to treat a book...

There's a certain type of romance that I think of as being 'quiet'. They're not necessarily low-angst or low-conflict, but the characters ineract in ways that demonstrate their love. They support one another and are mindful of the other's wellbeing, and something about that reaffirms my flagging faith in humanity. This was a much-needed and perfectly-formed quiet romance (and is also just generally excellent) #romantsy #LitsyAtoZ #LetterL

Chachic Yeah like when two people gradually fall in love as they get to know each other, nothing flashy in it. That's a quiet kind of romance. 7y

Day 15 #readingwomenmonth - new books/tbr. These are the two most recent books I've bought, but they didn't stay tbr long since I devoured them. Eagerly awaiting the next one, I think it's out in July.

Everyone's right--this book is wonderful! The romance is firmly rooted in how the lovers work hard to understand one another and recognize what the other needs, with an emphasis on mental health. Lawrence has always believed he's destined to go mad because he has an anxiety disorder, but being with Georgie helps him see he's simply a person for whom the world works differently.

There's also a cute kid and a big ol' dog in the mix. Aw. #romantsy

Fairly certain the cure to my headache and general blahness is in this book. This is definitely a #blameitonlitsy book - thanks whoever it was who posted about it being on sale the other day! #romantsy

(Also, it downloaded with absolutely tiny font. Is that the book or my ereader's fault? The size in the pic is after I increased it like five times... way to make me feel old, ebook.)

Another great story. Georgie is a con man who has to lay low. Pretending to be a secretary he worms his way into Lawrence's home and life.

I forgot to renew my library card on my last visit, so I had to make a special trip to the library today. They still let patrons borrow stuff with a lapsed card, but I couldn't look at my account until I sorted it out and that was TORTURE. Gotta check where I'm at with my holds, y'know?

The extra trip did give me a chance to pick up two of those holds: an interior design book for research and a romance novel for fun.

This M/M romance was so charming.

Also it had a scene that had all my fellow library school grad students up in arms (in a good way!) so well done, Cat Sebastian.

I was prepared for a sophomore slump after The Soldier's Scoundrel, but I really loved this book! The riff on Beauty & The Beast worked for me, and I adored the witty banter. Can't wait for book 3! #romantsy #historicalromance

Mehso-so

A sweet romance, but I didn't love it as much as The Soldier's Scoundrel. Georgie, even in his own book, doesn't feel solidly drawn, he's still aloof. At times the story felt less HEA and more Lawrence found a handler he couldn't frighten away. I did appreciate that Lawrence's "madness" was not perfectly defined in a 21st century context (it's either extreme social anxiety or on the spectrum) and there were several interesting turns to the plot.

balletbookworm Plus we get to see Oliver and Jack in their home, which was so lovely. A good second novel. Oh, and science! 8y
