"Dover's two-volume edition of The Poems of Emma Lazarus marks the work's first printing by a major publisher since its last printing in 1900. Isn't this a beautiful rendition of Emma Lazarus's timeless words? This poem is on the base of the Statue of Liberty. (Artist unknown, at least to me)

Hooked_on_books I was thinking about this today. So much for founding principles, right? Will the next executive order be to chisel it off? (I'm a little angry right now.) 8y
freyaheart @Hooked_on_books they would probably just remove the plaque that it is on, I hope they don't. The book she is holding says "JULY IV MDCCLXXVI" 8y
KennethTolesJr I love Emma Lazarus' work. I just got to know her work through a poetry course I took a few months ago, and I loved it. Great stuff! And this is a really good artist rendition. 8y
