Still as good as always with VI on the trail of a murder.

Not going inside until it's too dark to read.

I have a handful of pop fiction authors I enjoy and Paretsky is definitely one. This installment finds VI looking for 2 MPs in Kansas and exploring secrets, lies, abusive families, and racism. A solid story. Plus I love the presence of dogs in these books.

This was a huge #grabbyhands for me. I made a special trip to a different library bc I didn't want to wait for the one in transit to my local branch. I'll release the other one back into the wild when it comes in. I love this author and her MC, VI Warshawski. I haven't been able to focus on this or much else due to unforeseen circumstances. But the book hadn't disappointed me yet.

I haven't read any of this series, but this one sounds intriguing! Have you read any?
