This book was definitely a "Proper Romance." I highly enjoyed the growing relationship between Marianne and Philip. How they fall in love is quite sweet. This book took me way longer to read than expected, but I still enjoyed it.

pickThis was a refreshing romance. It‘s been a while since I‘ve read just a straight historical romance. This was fun and fluffy. It was also a clean romance, which I don‘t always love. Marianne was a bit too shy and modest for my taste but because it was a clean romance and I didn‘t have an issue with it. I also really liked Philip. I also thought the ending was a bit odd.

pickThis was my #LMPBC book this month and I loved it!! This was just the romance I needed to help me through another intense week at work. There were definitely a few eye-rolling moments, but for the most part I really loved the characters & totally shipped the main couple. Loved how it was swoony without being sexy. pickI stayed up way too late last night finishing this one because I needed to see what happened. That alone is a rave review. This is so very sweet. It also has a bit of a Pride and Prejudice feel, but with some adventure tossed in. I'm always grateful I don't live during these time periods though. Having to marry well and rely on men to have a good life. Yikes! TBH I'm sure I'd end up as cleaning staff given my own birthright. I loved this one.

pickDelightful. Yes, it was predictable but nonetheless it truly was a delightful, fun and light romance set in the Regency era (which I enjoy). A fun, fun story that was well suited to my reading tastes and mood.
