Morning Bible time! Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. 1 Peter 5:7
today's reading: genesis 1:27, genesis 2:18-25, genesis 3, joel 2:26-27, isaiah 53:11-12
i realized today how often we condemn eve and her actions, despite us listening to serpents in our lives every dang day. how easy it is to get mad at others doing the exact same thing as us. i'm also trying to learn to live a life without shame, and not letting others put shame on me.
Tomorrow myself, @Hehaney & @Caterina are starting a Bible study about Women in the World: Old Testament. If you're interested in joining us, we'd love to have you! You can either download the SheReadsTruth app, and purchase the plan for $2.99 , or if you'll remember to use the website, you can find all the readings and devotional online for free. (Link below)
If you join us, use the hashtag #gafstudy ! It's in conjunction with our blog :)
today's reading: exodus 24:3-8, romans 5:6-11, hebrews 9:15-22
today I'm reflecting on the gifts of languages our lord has given us, and how powerful hymns like this, sound and feel different in different languages. I'll never forget when i heard this song for the first time, i had no words, never knew them, and yet somehow i just knew them and sang loudly and proudly. solo de jesus la sangre indeed.
on sundays and mondays our plan does things a little different. sunday is a grace day, a day we can catch up on our readings, on mondays we get a verse of the week to work on memorizing, and a lock screen to help. since there isn't much to reflect on, i decided to post my prayer for today. "God, enable us to dismantle the twisted assumption that bread is only for the fortunate, water only for the lucky, and freedom only for the privileged."
today's reading: isaiah 12-1-6, galatians 2:19-20, hebrews 2:10-13
i took a long moment today to praise him. thank him for the fact that his hand has always been in my life, and that he has protected me. he is a great god. i feel lucky.
today's reading: genesis 9:8-17, psalm 90:1-17, lamentations 5:19
i was struck today about how often we don't hold up our promises that we make, especially when we get desperate. but how the lord always follows through, for he is a good father.
today's reading: deuteronomy 32:1-4, 1 corinthians 3:10-15, matthew 7:24-29
i was struck today by how important strong foundations are in life. how the prettiest gems (and people) are the ones who have weathered the storms.
today's reading: romans 5:12-21 , 1timothy 1:12-17, hebrews 7:23-25
today i was really struck on how much change power an individual has. good or bad. adam & moses were just single men who changed the world. and jesus sure as heck did that too. we are all so important. every single one of us.
Hi everyone!
Myself and the other women of the blog that's launching July 4th are starting this Bible Study on that day. I wanted to invite any Littens to join us if they wanted. I'm buying a physical copy of the study guide, and the more we get, the cheaper it is. It would be about $20 and you would get the New Testament study as well.
Let me know if you'd like in! (If you don't want the book, it's like $2.99 to get it just on your phone!)
today's reading came from 2 samuel:1-20, psalm 139:7 & 1 Corinthians 15:49
excited for this study off of the she reads truth app!
Doing some Good Friday reading tonight Friends. Are there other #christiansoflitsy out there? I would love to get to know you, for it is finished. Hallelujah!
(For those of you that aren't Christian know that this isn't me ragging on you! I love all of you Littens for exactly who you are, today happens to be a pretty big holiday for us :) )
I haven't posted in so long! I've been so distracted by uni life. Plus it was my birthday last Thursday so that was a busy time too! I have to hold my hands up and say I haven't had much chance to do any reading lately. But today is the first day in a long time where I can just relax, so I'm currently reading my bible, listening to Hillsong before I start making notes of encouragement to leave around my room. Happy Saturday, all! 😘
As someone who considers herself a follower of Jesus, I want to take this moment to apologise.
I am so sorry to the many people who have been hurt by people who bore the name of my faith. I am so sorry for the pain they have caused and the hate they have spewed. I am so absolutely heartbroken over all the church has done to so many.
Know that I fight every day to be a true representation of this verse, and will fight for love until my last breath
I was supposed to finish "The Mothers" yesterday, but instead got invited (and went) to Hillsong Los Angeles's Winter School and learned SO MUCH. We have four more sessions tonight and I can't wait to see what else we learn. My mind was legit blown last night.
