5 stars for me and I don‘t even typically read horror/ thriller. It was scary but not so much that I had nightmares or anything. Perfect reading for spooky season!

Anyone else excited for The Bachelorette? This is the perfect read along to this show!
You know when you happen upon a book you had never heard about but love it? And it‘s the perfect book for the perfect time? This was that book for me. It was so fun and spooky and a quick read although it was over 400 pages. Mermaids are real? Ship crew goes missing? So good!
I wanted to like this so much more than I did, especially since it was narrated by Bahni Turpin. She was amazing as usual, but for a book about a spy it was just way too boring. There was so much story that did not need lend itself to the plot and even the action was not compelling. I give it 3 stars.
I have heard so many good things about this book, so I‘m ready to dive in. Worked the last 3 nights and now for my reward!
As a fan of Gilmore Girls and Lauren Graham, I am definitely intrigued by this book and can‘t wait to hear her in her unique voice.
If you like a strong sense of place, especially if that place is gothic and creepy, I think you‘ll like this book. I don‘t generally read scary or horror but I loved the ride this book took me on.
So excited for my #bookofthemonth picks! I think I‘ll start with Space Between Worlds. It sounds so good!
This book is so delightfully creepy. There are definitely some jump parts that made me so scared I was giddy. I cannot wait to finish.
Enjoying the last week of summer before kids are back in school. Really enjoying this book, slow read for me but interesting premise.
Yay for #botm! I thought The Windfall was the same book that I had been hearing about that was a young adult book, but I'm glad to see that the description is right up my alley! Plus, I have been wanting to read Dark Matter for so long that instead of waiting for a library hold, I just decided to buy it!
Finished this on my plane ride. The writing isn't stellar, but it's such a fun, interesting look at life as a thirty something working in a top level position at the White House. She is so relatable that I can imagine myself reacting similar to a lot of the situations she encounters.
So hard to decide what book to read for the airplane ride! My bag is stuffed with books and I'll probably just fall 😴. But this one is very entertaining.
Loved, loved, loved this audiobook! As someone with South African ancestry it helped me understand my roots so much more, but more than that Trevor Noah is a great storyteller and his story is fascinating!
"And this makes me wonder if a black girl's life is only about being stitched together and coming undone, being stitched together and coming undone. I wonder if there's ever a way for a girl like me to feel whole."
Trying to read this book and not start crying at my daughter's gymnastics class. I should have maybe chose to bring a lighter book!😭😭😭😭
This was a quick, fun read. I don't gravitate to science fiction but this was one I really enjoyed. Definitely going to read the sequel.
Half junk half healthy, it's all about balance😂. I haven't read a fantasy novel in a while so digging into this one for a #litsypartyofone.
I loved this book! I love books that teach me something I had no idea about with regards to another culture. I never knew the history of Koreans and the Japanese people and how complicated the relationships could be. The writing was so well done that you just wanted to curl up and immerse yourself in the sweeping saga of this family. I find myself still living with the characters in my mind.
Wow, sound familiar? Loving this book series that our city libraries picked as a group read.
Does anyone else try to read and watch tv at the same time?😮
I cannot say enough good things about this book! Considering our present crisis with whether or not to allow refugees to resettle in our country, it is an excellent picture of what life in a refugee camp is really like and the difficulty that already exists to be approved to come to America. I don't think I will ever forget the stories of those shared in this book.
This was my #litsypartyofone today. Reading and enjoying Coffee while waiting for my son's bus.
Such a great middle reader book for Black History Month... or anytime.
I'm only on the prologue and this book is already illuminating so much of our current situation. "Poverty does not necessarily lead to extremism." Ben Rawlence.
Working on @bookriot #readharder challenge with a comic for all ages. This looked like a good one!
I wanted to like this book and hoped that it would provide any kind of twist or redemption, but it fell flat for me. It read like an indie movie that you watch and then have no idea what the point was. I can see how it could be a book club book though, because there would be a lot of discussion about the characters and their choices.
Sometimes you have to take it back to your childhood. Introducing my 13 yr old to The Babysitters Club and reading it over myself.
My daughter was so excited to receive her first boo for #LGPjunioredition ! She was tickled that it came all the way from New Zealand! #juniorreaders
I haven't read a book this fun in a long time! Perfect after some heavy reading. Now I'm craving another like it!
This is one of my first nonfiction non-personal development books. It was so interesting, jaw dropping in places, and kept my attention the whole time. Definitely want to read more books like this now.
Yay! My first Book of the Month pick!!! I caved, but I'm so excited to dive into this first book. I love Tana French!
So far this is such a relaxing, enjoyable read. No pressure or hurry to finish, but perfectly suited for a lazy day off!
"There was nothing about youth that was fair: the young hadn't deserved it, and the old hadn't done anything to drive it away"
The way you look at this statement says a lot about what age you are. I can relate too much to this statement!
Some books make you a better person after you have read them. This is one such book. I wish I could have the experience of reading it for the first time again. Definitely my favorite book of 2016!
I can't believe this book was just sitting in new releases at my library when I thought there was a long line for it. Oh well, score for me😄😄😄!
I guess it was my lucky day! So different than what I expected, but as a fan I love the continuation of this story.
Ok now, I'm halfway through this book and I still don't know what happened at the freakin' barbecue!!! Ugh this is frustrating.
I guess it was my lucky day at the library🤓🤓🤓. I loved What Alice Forgot and Big Little Lies, so I have high hopes for this book.
Thanks for the laughs! She is literally writing my life.
Can't believe it took me a year to make it to Parnassus books! I found my new happy place😄. Couldn't leave without getting at least one brand spanking new book!
"'Good intention' is a hall pass through history, a sleeping pill that ensures the dream." Oh just some light reading before bed?.
I will seriously read anything she writes. Just beginning this one and I can already tell it's going to be great!
