#SeasonsReadings Day 13: My #CupOfCheer is this porridge with century egg from Tim Ho Wan to steer clear of the Western hot choco or eggnog or frappuccino as expected. 🧚🏼♀️🍵 Granted it looks more like a bowl than a cup. 😂🤣😭 So far, still not loving the book. There are a few snippets that make me think, but as a whole, still meh.
I didn‘t appreciate this when I was introduced to it in high school, but I‘m glad I kept my old copy. It‘s grown on me. #secrets #poetrymatters @LazyDays
Growing up in central Illinois, we read this book in school. It‘s a fictionalized account of small town life drawn from the names & dates found on headstones in a graveyard. Told in free verse & based on the communities Masters grew up near, the stories remain as funny, horrifying, surprising, & poignant as ever. And, since we are passing the Spoon River on our trip, I brought it along to read with the family. Love this note about the author!

pickPossibly the most damaged book in my TBR pile. When she was a year old or so and teething, my daughter kept taking off with this book. It was her favorite teething toy. Hence the folded and ripped cover and bitten edges. On the plus side, I didn't feel bad using a pen to underline and mark up pages as I read. Lol

I'm not only a multi-platform reader, I'm a multi-platform organizer. With my daughter on my lap and an iced coffee at hand, I decided to make a secondary tracker in the Notebooks app on my Kindle. 2. So the book started out great and I really was liking it. Then around the halfway mark it started to feel like word salad. Poetry still isn't my thing I guess.

My September most anticipated? A long weekend, #litsypartyofone and a #tbrbingo marathon! These are a few books on this weekend's #TBR.
The weekend can't get here fast enough. I swear this school year is kicking my ass and it's only the second week! The kids are wonderful and my lessons are going rather smoothly, but back to school night week one and duty rotation week two have hit me hard. I'm declaring a #minimarathon and a #mangathon this weekend.

So... I have my books everywhere, no organization, no rhyme or reason to my shelves. For the most part I know what books I have. Still it's always and adventure looking for a particular book and I always feel victorious when I find the book. It's even better when I find it about where I thought I remembered putting it 10 years earlier.
Such was the case this morning.
So here are my final selection of #24in48 books and I even have 16 minutes left before the start! I feel like I might add some other books on the way. I think there might be a free space for some classic here. Not sure yet... But anyway I'm going for a good mix of classic/contemporary/English/Finnish/Poem -literature. I think this will work for me!

I visited a used books store today. Found this. Spoon river anthology was one of my favourite books when I was at school. It's been years since I've read this last time. I hope it's as good as I remember.
