What would make your perfect man? That's the delicious topic heating up the proceedings at a certain table of professional women at their favourite restaurant. As the conversation picks up momentum, so do the quartet's requirements for Mr Perfect. And they write down a tongue-in-cheek list that's both funny and racy. The next thing Jaine Bright and her three girlfriends know, the List becomes an overnight sensation, grabbing the interest of local newspapers and television coverage. No one expected this avalanche of attention for something that began as a joke among friends. But the joke turns deadly serious when one of the four is murdered... The prime suspect in the case is the victim's boyfriend, one of a number of men who found the List sexist and offensive. But an impenetrable alibi gets him off the hook. Now, with the help of Jaine's neighbour, an unpredictable police detective, the puzzle must be solved - and time is running out as a deadly stalker targets the three remaining friends, and the dream of Mr Perfect becomes a chilling nightmare.

Today's #aboutabook is with a mystery which makes me think of books I've enjoyed that have had a side of mystery. Like this one-romance with a side of mystery.

Read this a long, long, time ago and remember loving it. Found it on hoopla so I‘m giving it a reread. Hoping I love the second time around.

I‘m a very nice person except when I have to deal with jerks!‘ ‘You‘re the worst kind of trouble,‘ he snapped. ‘You‘re marrying trouble.‘”

#Debra‘s5kgiveaway @Kdgordon88 It‘s so hard to pick a favourite book so I‘ll go with one of my top 5: Mr.Perfect by Linda Howard. The MC is hilarious and the romance is great. It‘s also got suspense and murder and a twist ending. As for most wished for book, right now I‘m into anything by Tijan. She‘s great and delivers great angsty soap operas you can‘t put down.

So, I have never read a Linda Howard book. I just do not read a lot of romance. She writes suspense romance. However, after listening to her talk, I have placed a few on my library hold list. She was a delightful speaker. And something that I never expected a “romance” writer to talk about was chasing escaped cows back into the pens. #alabamabookfestival

Prairiegirl_reading What is suspense romance? 7y
LisaJo @Prairiegirl_reading I‘m not 100% sure. Linda Howard explained it as a suspense or thriller novel that doesn‘t work it‘s self out without the romance part. I really need to read one to understand what that means. But there were people there with many of her books, so they knew exactly what she meant. 7y
Prairiegirl_reading @LisaJo sounds interesting. I‘d be into that much more than just a straight up romance. Cool! 7y

I have only read one other Linda Howard book and it didn't particularly impress me, but this book was terrific. It was one of those books that leaves you thinking about the characters and going over the plot points in your mind. I really enjoyed it!

I love this book. I've read it so many times that it is like visiting an old friend.

Jemgirl2014 I never make a habit of readimg books more than once but I read this one twice! This, "Dream Man", and "Kill and Tell" are my all time favorites by her. ? 7y

I read this for the #OSRBC on FB. I really didn't like this one very much. There was a lot of sexual harassment in the workplace and it was treated as a funny thing. The hero & heroine seemed confused about how birth control actually works and they also decided they were in love & should get married ASAP the first time they had sex. I did like the friendship between the heroine & several secondary characters so I'm not panning it.
