I went in not realizing this is a short story collection but liked it anyway! Darcy Coates is seriously Goosebumps for grownups. She's so reliable for a good, creepy, traditional spooky story.

Here are my #bookspin and #doublespin books for September! They‘ve both been on my TBR for a while, so I am very much ready to knock them off.
pickThis is now one of my favorite Darcy Coates books. I felt anxious through most of the book and found the end very satisfying. It ticked all the boxes for a short creepy read. I don't want to say any more that would give anything away. It's a fast read and another square on my #bookspinbingo card.

I came across Dracy Coates as part of our #screamsbymail PBC and picked up this novella because I loved her novel ‘Hunted‘ so much. I‘m just one chapter in and the creep factor is real. 😱
pickFast paced, super creepy! I loved it! It takes a lot for me to be creeped out or feel suspense, this book did both! I‘m definitely going to be reading more of Coates‘ books.

pickThis is a super short, creepy read (less than 150 pages). Sam visits a remote cabin to get some painting done for a gallery show. The calming atmosphere she was hoping for quickly becomes the thing nightmares are made of. You know that feeling of being watched-well I was anxious taking a shower last night after reading this book for a few hours. I found it to be a good palate cleanser. It is also free on Kindle Unlimited.
