Wow! What a great start to this series! I don‘t usually read legal thrillers but I saw an ad for the fourth book in the series and it really grabbed my attention. I‘m glad I came across it. Eddie Flynn is a different kind of defense attorney. He usually only defends people he believes are innocent. This case is different. He‘s forced to defend this client because they‘ve kidnapped his daughter. #SeriesLove2024 @Andrew65 @TheSpineView
“Former con artist turned lawyer Eddie Flynn gave up the law a year ago after a disastrous case, and he vowed never to step foot in a courtroom again. But now he doesn't have a choice. The head of the Russian mob in New York City, on trial for murder, has kidnapped Eddie's ten-year-old daughter: Eddie has to take this case whether he likes it or not.”
Loved this one. This series has been on my TBR pile for a long time, finally pulled this one, the first of the series, out this week and will be swiftly moving on to the next. A fast-paced thriller featuring con-man turned lawyer Eddie Flynn. Predominately a court-room drama, but plenty of action and twists and turns to keep you wanting to turn the pages.

Another new to me author and series but I'll be coming back to it sooner rather than later - I really enjoyed Eddie's first outing!
Amazing read! Another great plot involving Eddie Flynn. I was obsessed with his series after reading fifty fifty and went back to the beginning with this novel. Great characters, great plot and an exciting read with lots of twists and turns. Can't wait for the next one. Definitely recommend.
Fast paced legal thriller. Good break from heavy literary fiction. First in a series, so some back story set up throughout.
I am posting one book per day from my extensive to-be-read collection. No description and providing no reason for wanting to read it, I just do. Some will be old, some will be new. Don‘t judge me - I have a lot of books. Join the fun if you want.
This is day 94

This book is fantastic! Eddie Flynn is a former conman/hustler turned defense attorney and he's about to take on his toughest client yet - a dangerous mob boss who wants him to win an unwinnable trial, while he holds Flynn's daughter hostage as collateral. The stakes are high and the pages turn quick. I was hooked! This is an excellent choice for anyone who's into courtroom thrillers.
Wow what a brilliant book, really enjoyed it and didn‘t want to put it down. Great twists and turns. Definitely a PICK 👆🏻
Overall, this was so-so. The bones of a great series are here, I just don't particularly care for the Russian Mob angle. It was also very repetitive and the MC was always able to figure things out or go to superhuman physical feats to get what he needed. I found this to be unbelievable, but I am happy to continue as I hear the series does get better.

🎧 I recently read an interesting review of Thirteen which is the 3rd book in this series. I like to start at the beginning of series. This is book 1 & it didn‘t disappoint. The narrator was a good choice for Eddie. It‘s about a con artist who becomes a lawyer then shortly after he quits his kid‘s kidnapped and he‘s forced to help the Russian mob in a court trial. Eddie‘s not an angel but it‘s clear he‘ll do anything to keep his kid safe. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I brought Thirteen when it was being hyped and realised it was 4th in the series! Even though everyone said you could read as stand alone I just couldn‘t do it.
Good introduction to the characters and good storyline, will read more!
Saw your review of this book this morning @Cathythoughts so how could I resist when I saw this copy for only $3?
This is the first Eddie Flynn MC book. What a fantastic story , almost cartoon like at times. Outrageous plot. And very good. I will read more of S Cavanagh. But , his book Thirteen remains my favorite so far. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Comfort mode ... I have had a #constantcraving for this moment all weekend. Walk done ✅. Dinner ✅ Lying on the couch with this tagged excellent book .... heaven 💕💕📚

Freshly mowed lawn. Now back to reading. It‘s the first time I‘ve read Steve Cavanagh. Hope it‘s good. 😬😎
A far fetched yet entertaining action-filled crime novel. Starts off with the well worn “I‘ve kidnapped your family so help me or they die” scenario, but quickly takes off on some unbelievable tangents. Like the main character in 24, Eddie Flynn is having a very bad day! Rating: 3.5 ⭐️
This was a good book. I would have finished it sooner, but I had a migraine Friday, asthma attack Saturday, busy Sunday, another migraine yesterday. This book was packed with action. Non-stop court room drama. Couldn't help but root for Eddie Flynn, though he's a conman and everything seems to happen to him.
I read this in one day - could not put it down. Smart protagonist, gripping plot and the courthouse setting rings true to life. I love the details of the trial, nicely paced with the Russian mob action. A great holiday read!
