The first half an hour is done! Now... food. #24in48
I really enjoyed this! I really want to pick up the second one too. The cover completely intrigued me and the story lived up! (It's a bit outlandish in places, but still interesting!)
First read of #readathon, and I really enjoyed it! The poems were different to what I expected but I've definitely got a few bookmarked, including the collection's namesake. Definitely recommend!
Happily reading my first book of #readathon! I'm really enjoying this, nearly finished actually!
I really enjoyed this MG book! Coco had great character development and the horsey aspect was fab. (Forever waiting for my Cupcake!) It was sweet and fun, and I felt like I was really in the story with the characters. I'm not sure if I'll read the sequel simply bc it's from a different character's perspective, so I'll have to see about that but I definitely loved this one!
I haven't been reading for ages, been in a slump and I got 170 pages into this book about 4 months ago and never finished it :/ I'm going to try & finish it soon though because I'm seeing spoilers everywhere 🙃 I LOVED The Infernal Devices but I've been way more disappointed with The Mortal Instruments :/ what're your thoughts?
Whilst I liked the short stories in this collection, some of them were SO weird, I couldn't quite figure out the meanings. I really enjoyed all of them and thought that they were fascinating, but they seemed a little short and inconclusive & I couldn't quite figure out if I was 'getting' them or not! Enjoyed overall though! Thanks to the publisher for an arc. Book 3 of Dewey's 24hr pre-#readathon! #arc
What another FANTASTIC book! It is no secret I love Robin Stevens' novels, and this one is no different. And it doesn't even matter than I'm reading a Christmas book in April! I will always recommend this series. Book 2 of Dewey's 24hr pre-#readathon!
I read WINDFALL today (aside from 60 pages already read) which is my first book for the Dewey's 24 hour pre-readathon! I really enjoyed it although I had some trouble with one of the main characters and was kinda put out that the MC ended up with them. :( 3.5/5 overall & 2/24 hours read!
This was a reread but I last read the book years ago! I'm planning on carrying on with the series this time, though. There's so much to say about this book (a longer review is heading to my blog!) but it's definitely a modern classic and I'm really looking forward to the Netflix series!
I really loved this book. It was so abstract and beautifully written. I loved how fevers and dreams were written and I could not put it down! There was one character I felt a little irrelevant but I loved it overall. The ending especially was wonderful.
Full review will be on my blog soon: sprinkledwithwords.wordpress.com & goodreads (same name!) x #arc
I think #24in48 may be over for me and I did PITIFULLY! I read so little hours I'm really disappointed (although happy that I read 1 book, finished another, and started a third). Next time will be better...! Uh, when is the next round? 😉
This also really highlighted how I have to make reading more of a priority, even if I am a student and 4:30am bedtimes are a thing multiple days in a row. 😜
"A monster calls.
I capture the castle:
The princess saves herself in this one."
Poem in book titles for another #24in48 challenge! ? Now... off to bed for me. Yet another 4am!
I'm #currentlyreading this for leisure and thought I'd get a bit of reading in before I go out tonight! 😄🎉 #24in48
OMG I completely overslept before #24in48 and I'm so far behind!! 😱😱 Not going out tonight as well haha! 4:30 am bedtimes are NOT a good idea for reading.
Anyway, starting with this one first I think as I need to have it read by Monday and I think short stories will be good for my brain! Haha!
Happy readathon!
Ps: also tweeting (mb1098) and instagramming (sprinkledwithwords)
24in48 is this weekend and I'm finally participating whoo! This is my TBR, all for university and o need to get them all read this weekend haha! *screams* Well, I need to read at least 90 pages of both of the Proust novels so there we go! #24in48 #tbr
Happy #NationalBookLoversDay! This is my most recent read and some of my favourite books which I think is appropriate!
It's official - I have read 80 books this year and I am very chuffed! 😄
(I also feel like I've abandoned Litsy so HI AGAIN I'M BACK WITH 80 BOOKS AND 800 MORE ON MY TBR!)
I really loved Fangirl! It wasn't as good as I expected it to giving the hype but i enjoyed it so much and I loved the fan fiction bit! It really inspired me to write which is an added bonus ;P and it'll be coming with me on MY first year at uni this September...
Loving this at the moment. Wish I'd brought book 3 with me too! Now I have to wait 2 weeks!!
New current read. However, it is a second hand copy and it STINKS! I've never had this before... Anyone else?
Started this this evening but it's scarier than I thought! Currently 11:30... Seeing as I was up to 12:30 last night (also because I was reading) I should probably get to bed!
Love a morning just lounging in bed and reading.
The second half of this book definitely made up for the sometimes lacklustre and slow first half. I think this book is a rather acquired taste but I'd definitely try it! I did love the whole magical-realism thing and when THAT THING happens I can guarantee I cried...
I crossed the finishing line of my Goodreads reading challenge today! Whoop! 😄 61 books read so far this year...
Ps search sprinkledwithwords to find me on Goodreads!
Why is it that I can't go to a library and not pick up books...?! (To be fair, I did drop off 8!!)
Oh my gosh. This was so terrifying, so thrilling, so utterly brilliant! I really enjoyed this and that ending... WOW.
I really enjoyed this book! It was definitely for younger readers but definitely very well researched. Halo was a great protagonist. My one quibble is that the ending was too rushed but there we go.
Reading this for #TBRTakedown and I'm really enjoying it so far! So many mysteries. It's a standalone sequel to Florence & Giles :D
Eek my mum bought this for me today! 💕 And it's SIGNED! I cannot wait to read this, I've heard such good things about it. Steadily building up my summer reading list! ^_^
I heard that fun photo Friday was book and pet! Here's one of my gorgeous kitties and my current read 💕
This was tricky to get into but I enjoyed it so much. It has a lyrical style and I just enjoyed my eyes skimming over the pages. The actual plot was violent but still interesting to read, and I've even tabbed this book (I never do that)! I highly recommend it.
Picked up these two yesterday. I've already enjoyed Terry Pratchett books before, not so much Kate Mosse but I've heard such good things about Labyrinth I had to give it a try. (Plus, they were only 50p each!)
'it was a real satisfaction to me to waltz - left two three, right two three - and carve left cheeky and right cheeky...'
Found this awesome free little library today when out with my boyfriend! (It's in his home village! Cannot believe he never showed me before now!) I of course picked up a book - Birdsong :) it's so well loved and I can't wait to read it. Hope to find more of these around!
Finished this book today, finally! It took me a while due to exams but I was so so gripped and so scared! I love how it's partly set in Winchester too! Always something fun about living where a great book is taking place. :) Definitely recommend, even if you didn't like the SLATED series!
Currently reading this and I'm actually seriously hooked! Much better than her Slated series (far less confusing!). Recommend it so far but of course I haven't finished yet :)
This arrived today! I can't wait to delve into it. I loved her adult novel 'How to Fall in Love' :)
What an incredible book. I am definitely going to copy down some of the quotes. Really highlights how to feel, not be, better (well, for me anyway) and although it's cliché it is also realistic and not patronising. Given straight to my mum to read too! I'm definitely trying more Ahern in the future.
Really enjoying this. So far it feels like a better version of Me Before You (unpopular opinion: I didn't like that book). I hope it ends happily... Well, a girl can hope in a world of evil authors!
I was in a reading rut but I'm already 60 delicious pages into this novel and loving it! It's my first Cecelia Ahern novel and I hope it won't be the last :D
Read some really great books this year, I hope this continues the trend. Standard of YA so far has been especially great.
Heard mixed reviews about this but it's been on my tbr (and my shelf!) for a while so I thought... May as well! Kinda intrigued so far which is good :D
Utterly terrifying and yet completely captivating. I read it in the morning and was still thinking about it (and hiding under the covers) at night!
I really enjoyed this one and I would definitely give it a solid 4/5! The mystery was interesting, the main character was great and the side characters played really well. I couldn't stop reading! Definitely keep an eye out for Jennifer Donnelly in the future.
On page 46 and I'm already hooked probably because it's got everything I love:
- Young heroine
- Mystery
- potential romance
- historical setting
- great side characters
(And only in 46 pages so far!)
