Thanks @DarkMina 1. My daughter and I have a lot of conversations about the books we ❤️ 2. My daughter and my son 3. Nabokov‘s Lolita @Cinfhen @The_Heeler_Booklife @Lauram
What a year 🤩 in books
#BlameItOnLitsy
The ones I 😍 are
A head full of ghosts
The dark corners of the night
The last Odyssey
Blood water paint
Flowers over the inferno
She rides shotgun
Blacktop wasteland
Eileen
Devolution
I am thinking of ending things
Catch and kill
Monster, she wrote
... And the book that stays in my head is
My Dark Vanessa,
What a hard hitting debut 👍
Ringing in the Halloween 🎃 season with the almost perfect read 👍
The cover ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Gorgeous
Noemi ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Fell in ❤️ with her
The story ⭐⭐⭐ It is based on mesoamerican myths, and we don't have anything similar in the myths I have grown up with, and was somewhat disconnected
Overall ⭐⭐⭐⭐ and you would ❤️ Noemi
😍🤩 this book so far.
Bloodchokes.
Riding the rocket.
Thumb jabs.
Yummy 😋
Polly is kick-ass ❤️
I thought this book could have been so much more. The settings were awesome. The plot turned out to be predictable and bland. Would have 😍 to see more resistance.
What do you think?
Don't just stand there ... Applaud!
A spectacular debut.
A story that deserves to be told (and heard)
Definitely recommend.
What a book! What a debut! Such a fantastic lead 🤩
If Teresa were to be cast in a movie (mea culpa 😋), who do you think would be best?
I would like to see Meg Ryan in her shoes 😍
A great thriller. An American crime fiction that I liked, after a long time. Meg is my daughter's first name, and that's one more reason why I like this ❤️ A pick, definitely 👍
I liked Paul's writing in Cabin at the end of the world. Loved this novel, so heart breaking. Will remain one of my favorites, I guess.
A satisfying read, and Viv is my favourite lead lady so far this year 👍
Only stories I liked were In the tall grass, which is definitely better than the movie (no pun!), and Dark Carousel.
Which ones did you like?
A cracker of a novella, with some unlikely heroes and a nice twist to Karma. Loved it. Give me more, Tor ❤️👍😍
Joe has his fanboy moment with this book and Oh Boy! What a ride 👍🧙
Harry (pardon the pun) Potter for adults, ❤️❤️ the book.
Taut and suspenseful storyline, great artwork and inking, a top class graphic novel. My first pick 👍 of this year.
Sixteen books that defined this year for me:
1. Daisy Jones and the Six
2. Three Women
3. The long way to a small, angry planet
4. Bad Blood
5. She Said
6. You were never really here
7. The fruit of the drunken tree
8. Introvert doodles
9. The first three minutes
10. Range
11. No Exit
12. Batman: Rebirth
13. Gut
14. The last days of night
15. Last days of Jack Sparks
16. The Rabbit Hunter

Somehow, this reminds me so much of Alfonso Cuaron's Roma. An equally good one too.
A wonderful book, and my favorite Wayfarer is Sissix. Who's yours?
Getting started to know the motley crew, and I can sense the beginning of something good 🤩
#7days7covers day 1
So far so good 👍 James Tynion's writing is evocative.
The best non-fiction I read this year. Felt heart broken for Maggie. Lina's story is so surreal. Highly recommended 👌👍😍♥️
An NCF that reads just like a 100 other NCF, give this one a pass
Another nordic crime fiction, aren't there just too many!
Read an interview of the author, where she says she relates to Lina the most. I +1 that. Almost feels surreal to think that she is not a character, rather someone in flesh and blood.
Who do you relate to the most among the three?
A great book with a voice that cannot be ignored, loving it so far...
Ridiculous plot, shallow characters, insipid setting, didn't work for me
#BlameItOnLitsy
An equal number of hits and misses this year, so far..
The ones I ❤️❤️ are
Last Days of Jack Sparks
Bad Blood
Rabbit Hunter
No Exit
Range
.. And the cherry on top goes to
Daisy Jones and the Six
If you can empty your own boat
crossing the river of the world,
no one will oppose you,
and no one will seek to harm you
Rock and roll is about getting it on with a girl for the first time. Not about making love to your wife
And sometimes it can be hard to tell where the sound stops and the feelings begin
A satisfying read, a racy thriller.
The sex and violence are quite graphic though..
Tomie
Cabin at the end of the world
Prisoners of Geography
Brazen
Women in science
Stalker
Pretty Girls
👍 #BlameItOnLitsy
#BlameItOnLitsy hits and misses..
Hits:
Tomie - loved it for the wild, macabre ride
Brazen - Yummy artwork and lovely women, need I ask for more?!
Cabin at the end of the world - Very relevant, in these intolerant times..
Misses:
Vox - too loud but flat
Annihilation - too complex for me, didn't understand much
The book had potential for oodles of Loki's charm, wit and vile, but fell flat. Didn't work for me 😐
My recent reads based on litsy recommendations, ❤️💕 all, each was a wonderful read in its genre. Thank you 🙏
Fancy collecting these? 🤓
Which is your favorite story by Poe? I loved "The Cask of Amontillado"
I found "The tell tale heart" to be very modern, and the "Raven" a masterpiece
Great illustrations set the mood wonderfully.
Highly recommended ??
