“Why argue with a person so happy in their ignorance?”
This is a fast-paced winner! Great way to spend my Friday, but what's next?

You know how you finish a book and have to let it simmer in your brain awhile to uncover all the feels? No need to do that here. This bad boy was an incredible page turner! My second Paul Cleave and I'm loving him.
How is it possible that this is my first Paul Cleave? I loved it!! Such a great premise for a thriller and it was engaging, complicated and thought provoking. I couldn't put it down. Jerry/Harry will be with me for a long time.
Arrived at my child's school 35 minutes prior to pick up. I plan this purposely because it's a perfect opportunity for uninterrupted reading. Well, today's new book isn't so new. I realized that I've already read it. I'm embarrassed to say how frequently I do this. Maybe my TBR stack needs a little updating. Good thing I've got the Kindle app available on my phone. Wasted time averted!
Yes they grew up more privileged than most but they really are remarkable women. "We were expected to be good people, to care about others, and be responsible." Imagine if everyone lived by these expectations. ?
A book that lives up to its hype. For me, it really was a thriller! So much so that when I was interrupted for adult responsibilities i would get frustrated. 😃 I really loved this one!!👍🏻
Not who gets more excited about these, my daughter or myself. I had to promise not to place an order until she gets home from school. 💕
Longer than it needed to be and full of cliches. However, a worth while read from a courageous and talented young woman.
Oh yeah, I'm going to be up all night (wearing the headlamp in bed) reading this one. Captivating from the start! 🤓
My 4th grader will be participating in the Battle of the Books for the first time this year. I thought I'd read the books she'll be assigned so that I may question her comprehension. Now here's my dilemma. Does this count towards my books read this year? Should it be included in my Moleskin journal or should it be considered more of a bedtime story and dismissed?
Another great story from Grisham. I wish it hadn't wrapped up so neatly. I prefer a grisly end. What's wrong with me?
If Karin writes it, I'll read it. She can tell a story! This one had me from the get go. I neglected my family and my home to get through this bad boy and you know what? It was worth it!!
I found the use of religion as a tool to brainwash a child almost too much to take. This story was so painfully real. 💔
Why does the DNA of two complete strangers match that of an infant buried long ago? Provocative!
If you've ever experienced the pain of infertility, this book hits home. Powerful stuff. This one is going to stay with me for a LONG time. Definitely buying a copy for the home library. This is a debut novel. I can't wait to see what's next.
Received the third installment in the mail today. Max Brallier nails it. These books are right on the money. I read them aloud to my 9 year old at bedtime and dad loves to listen, too! So much fun.
Well, it was better than The Girl on the Train.
I found myself smiling while reading this. The family dynamics are so relatable and at the same time made me feel ridiculous because I could relate. This would make a great book to take along on vacation: light and breezy. Thumbs up!!
Perfect Days is a quality story. Well defined characters and unexpected surprises. Our main character is an absolute sociopath yet relatable. Am I crazy too?😳 Will definitely recommend this quick read! 👍🏻
I've really got to bail. Hits so close to home it hurts. Notice it's the large print edition? Besides my memory, I'm losing my hearing and vision, too. I thought I had a good sense of humor about it I mean who doesn't love Nora Ephron? Cuts too close to the bone for enjoyment for this old gal.
Trying to break free from my usual genre but The Secrets didn't do it for me. I had to bail. Next up Tig Notaro's I'm Just a Person. I expect this to be a huge improvement.
It's not a bad book. It's a sweet story with great metaphors. I don't need a story to wrap up perfectly. I prefer a more realistic approach. It's a fine summer read and keeps one turning the pages, just too predictable and nicely tied up to be memorable for me.
She gets as giddy as me as we enter the magical place (Barnes and Noble). Since We Fell was fast paced and well written. This gets a thumbs up!👍🏻
California is on fire. This was the moon last night. Air quality is so poor today that we are being advised to stay indoors. Great opportunity for reading.
The latest in Jo Nesbo's Harry Hole series. Nesbo is my favorite crime fiction writer. I wanna know him. I wanna know Harry. The writing is so good I feel like I could actually meet Harry. So much good stuff here. I can't get enough!!
The story is told from the perspective of several characters switching from past tense to present. Early in I found that to be unnecessary and annoying but at some point I found that it wasn't so bad. A kid napping takes an unexpected turn and things are far from what they seem.
This had so much promise. The story was intriguing with great character development. In the end, it fell flat. For me it felt like a different writer finished the story. I was disappointed.
Recently I've been avoiding Patterson novels as I've felt they've become repetitive. So glad I returned with this choice. I'm reminded why James Patterson is the master!
I'm not a Kardashian follower AT ALL, only curious about Caitlyn's journey. I expected to look at the photos and skim through the pages. I read it cover to cover. It was delightfully unexpected. She is honest, vulnerable and thoughtful. Above all I found her to be modest and grateful. So glad I picked this up.
Easy, breezy summer read.
Trilogy perfection! This series had it all: mystery, murder, action, family drama, love, hate and lies! Hate to say goodbye to Penn. I just might start over with the prequels to this series. Pure excellence. 🔥
Digging into this bad boy while my husband waits on line at the DMV. I'll have some time. 😊
"....he threw his arm around her shoulders and spread his legs wide, as if the girth of his testicles had turned his kneecaps into oppositely polarized magnets."
Karin Slaughter can tell a story. Her easy, relatable prose helps the reader race through the pages quickly because that's the best way to devour a Slaughter! Karin is killin it. 💕👍🏻
Sometimes a girls got to bail.
What is the matter with me when I'm hoping a serial murderer gets away with it? Good writing. Is there a sequel? What happens to Lily?
