Oh, I just finished this up, and I loved it so much! A beautiful story of a life going from small and gray to big and full of color.

katy4peas That‘s a great description of it! 💕 3y

Marilia, the Warlord | Morgan Cole

I like a story that draws you in to both action and emotion, and this one does a great job with that. Marilia moves along at a good pace, keeping your attention and engaging your emotions, giving you something to sink your teeth into.

An action packed fantasy with a strong female main character.

This was an ARC I received for a review.

The picture is just one of me at my spinning wheel at the fair, just because.

Nute I like everything about this post! 4y
kimdegener @Nute hehe, thanks. I usually do demonstrations and school programs with fiber arts, and with Covid, it's a no go. I miss it. 4y
Kimzey Woo hoo! Fiber arts! 🧶 4y
See All 9 Comments
kimdegener @Kimzey you a yarn person? 4y
Kimzey No, but I‘m a folklorist and manage a folk and traditional arts program, so I know a few spinners, weavers, knitters, crocheters, and quilters. 😊 4y
kimdegener @Kimzey now, THAT'S cool. I knit, spin, and dabble in weaving. I want to learn tapestry. 4y
Nute What a cool conversation thread between you and @Kimzey 🙂 I enjoying crocheting. I wish that i knew how to do other fiber activities...I would love to know how to spin, weave and quilt. That is why I am so happy to read the conversation between the two of you.😊 4y
kimdegener @Nute you'd be surprised what you can learn from YouTube or a book. If you want to try spinning, start with a spindle and fiber from Etsy. If you want to weave, make a loom. Start cheap, see what you like, and grow from that! 4y
Nute Awesome encouragement and advice! 4y

So, I'm flipping back and forth between the audio and Kindle of this book, and it's very powerful. If you are an Audible subscriber, it's in their catalog. The voices of black British womanhood.

We took a ride to visit my mother in law this morning, and as you can see, the leaves are peaking in that area. It gave me a chance to start my next book on the ride out, but being outside definitely was the highlight with colors like this!

JacqMac Beautiful! 4y
kimdegener @JacqMac it was absolutely gorgeous out. We had one of our German Shepherds with us and she was swimming in the pond. We left when Mike slipped and fell in the muck, lol. 4y

1. We used to always go apple 🍎 picking with the extended family.
2 I read The Far Pavillions in my very early 20s and it made a huge impact on me, both good and bad. I still reread it on a regular basis

I definitely enjoyed all the tricksy little twists and turns in this one, especially at the end. It didn't stimulate my reading buddy quite as much, apparently. I'll look for more books by the author. Creepy without being too scary.

1. I tend to be a terrible book hoarder if I'm not careful and I love browsing the shelves for hours. I try to fill my Kindle up.

2. I love both coffee and herbal tea.

One of my current reads. Loving the blend of herbal wisdom and the insight into the local culture. If you have any interest in herbalism or natural healing, you'll love it too.

I mostly read this one driving back and forth to dog events. Light, easy car reading with a steampunk edge. Fun!

Today was a lounge in bed with the husband, ice cream eating, book reading kind of day, and I finished this off. I'm not sure how to feel about this book. It was beautiful, disturbing, painful. I'll think about this one for awhile. Read it!

kimdegener Don't be afraid. Just do it. You want to look up the park and draft technique to start you off. You should be able to find videos on YouTube. 7y

@MrsV I hate to tell you this, and I'm really embarrassed, but due to circumstances beyond my control, I didn't get your book swap package out on time. I'll get it to you as soon as I can. Sorry for my ineptness, but I'll make it up to you.

MrsV I understand, life does have a habit of getting in the way. 😉 7y
Alicia @kimdegener did you get your bookswap package??? I didn't want to ruin the surprise but I wanted to make sure you received it! ☺️❤️📚 7y
kimdegener @Alicia yes, I did and it was awesome. I was on the road all day yesterday, and the hubby is sick, so I didn't have time to post anything yet. I took pics though. I was especially excited about The Invisible Library. It's already on my nightstand! 7y

I LOVED this book! The audio cast was fabulous, and it was just so beautifully written. I adore Neil Gaiman.

DivineDiana I started to watch the TV adapted series last night and was so disappointed! Too violent for me. 8y

I started this series when the first book came out, and enjoyed it. Interesting themes and characters, and enough magic to keep it interesting. I didn't get a pic with the book, so I'll share my scarf hot off the loom, made with my handspun.

This book was okay. Didn't love it, didn't hate it. Sorry I can't generate more enthusiasm. But it's done, and I'm moving on. My blood pressure is high, and I'm resting with Bella, devouring books and movies, but unfortunately, not pretzels :(

Woman of God | James Patterson

I really enjoyed this one. Just like all of Patterson's books, it went down fast and easy. If you like seeing good people go through tough times and bounce back, this is the read for you. I tried to get a picture of one of my feline reading partners in the shot, but she was uncooperative, so I posted a sticker of a surrogate kitty with my book.

Does anyone else have books that they fall back on as #comfortreads ? This is a book that I keep coming back to again and again, among several others. There's something here that resonates with me, maybe because I find it cathartic. This is one of my default stress books, along with #Outlander and #TheFarPavillions . I'm currently listening to the #Audible version, which is good. Both narrators do a nice job, letting you sink down into the story.

ApoptyGina69 I really want to read #TheFarPavillions. I think I even have it around here somewhere... thanks for the reminder! 8y
kimdegener It's one of those novels that sweeps you up and carries you away. 8y
Zelma Absolutely! I tend to go back to non-fiction about books as my comfort re-reads. 8y

kimdegener @Zelma I go for absorbing novels always. I get very lost in them and it gives my brain a hiatus from whatever I've been obsessing over. 8y
