The holidays are upon us. Looking for a great, fast read to take on your plane or train? This is it. I don't want to reveal plot because it's so much fun to discover the twists and turns as the pages fly!

This book is genius!! It really delivers on the inspired concept. I see that some people have bailed on it, but I would urge you to stay with it, Reader. The second half is wild. And the author's notes at the end are pretty awesome too.
Home with a cold and this very tasty British mystery/thriller on my new iPad mini. Review to come when I finish!
Getting ambitious here on the nightstand. I don't know if I'll be able to finish this because soon I'll have to read for work again, but I started this last night and I can tell you that Nathan Hill is one hugely talented writer. Full disclosure/reminder: this is a Knopf book and I work for The Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group. Nightstand reads reflect my own opinion as a person who loves books, even off duty!
As you can see, Gracie gives Siracusa two lids down, and I'm afraid her owner often dozed off while reading. I'm no really sure why. I think Delia Ephron is a good writer and the plot really intrigued me. That's part of the fun of reading. Sometimes books are just wonderful mysteries.
This book is hilarious, breezy fun--perfect summer read!
Shameless work-related plug ahead: if you have access to the physical edition of today's New York Times, grab it! This excerpt from The Underground Railroad by the supremely gifted Colson Whitehead will be yours. If you've never read anything by Colson, this searing masterpiece is a great place to start.
Been reading this one the last couple of nights and really loving it. Beautifully written, fully formed male and female characters and it's actually about something too: fathers and daughters, identity, and history. Can't wait to see where it goes!
Finished this the other night and have mixed feels about it. The author really knows how to build characters and tell a story, but I found the "secrets from the heroine's past" to be gratuitous. That said, I would still say read it and decide for yourself. It's definitely a diverting summer read.
Next book on the nightstand is not grabbing me. Should I keep going?
This is a shameless soap opera of a book...and I loved every page. And yes, I know I'm the last person earth to read it.
Working through a phase of reading about unlikable rich people...
