It's been a long time since a book spoke so straight to my soul. A real masterpiece.

This book is so tender and sweet and whimsical I want to hug it. I made Willie hug it instead.

Not every book can pull off 2 paragraphs on Taylor Swift, you go Tom Perrotta.
Sick as a dog today so I'm staying in bed and finishing some of the books I've read half of, but haven't finished. This one was pretty saccharine for me, but I admit I cried at the end... so I guess it won me over?
New dog pajamas, same dog. Last day of vacation tomorrow--soaking it up at my parents' ski condo.
Finished Garp last night, loved it so much that I bought A Prayer for Owen Meany today at Mercer St Books in Seattle. #johnirving
And a stack of some of the great reads from this year. Recommend them all.
This book is just as good as everyone says it is, but I listened on audio on the flight to Seattle so I don't have a picture. Did get my nails done this week though... 😜
RC is on sale for kindle readers! Hot dog!
another ugly airport carpet, another good book. Enjoying this.
In Dublin airport. This book is v dark, v addicting. People who liked My Absolute Darling will love this.
A CMU student made alternate book covers for Rabbit Cake for a course in design she was taking this summer -- and she was kind enough to send them to me! This one was my fav. Check out the rest of her amazing artwork at izzystephen.com
My flight anxiety has improved in the past year. Headed to Baltimore!
Asked my mother in law to bring this back from England for me (not sure if a US publisher has picked it up yet). Loving it. Very sad.
Reading at the dog park. This memoir is fascinating, hard to put down. Cruised through 100 pages before I even got out of bed this morning.
A lump of a dog and a chapter about a dog. Hosting a bookclub for this great book at Newtonville Books on Weds October 4!
Went to a reading tonight for internet-friend and mystery writer Kellye Garrett! Great event, excellent Saturday.
So excited to read with NJ Campbell tomorrow (Monday 9/18) at Literati Bookstore in Ann Arbor Michigan! 7 pm. Still waiting to hug a Litten...

Ready to quit writing and manage Willie's modeling career
Someone here (hi @JanuarieTimewalker13 !) asked me about the dog Boomer is based on. Here is Harvey, the most wonderful dog who ever lived, and my inspiration for Boomer. I remember, on this walk in Alabama, an elderly couple stopped me to ask if my dog was smart enough to do their taxes. "Probably!" I said. He's the dog I thank in the acknowledgements... he died of cancer last fall. He was my best friend. ❤️.
Gobbled this up yesterday, a re-telling of the Lizzie Borden case. Great writing & storytelling & amazing sensory details! And yeah, pretty creepy.
Tagging along to Woods Hole this weekend. My husband has a conference til Monday, and his travel/room at this beautiful B&B is paid for by a grant ... so I'm making the most of it! Hoping to write 25 pages, read 2.5 books, run 12 miles, drink 6 beers. Will keep you updated on my numbers. (Currently: 0 pages written, .5 books read, 3 miles run, 1 beer down.)
Road trip/weekend audiobook... Addicting! Inspired by the serial podcast. 👍
Soaking up the last weeks of summer and finishing this ah-mazing novel. Definitely not for everyone, but if you like weird, this one's for you 🐬
Finished this lovely read this morning. Heart-wrenching, real, wonderful story about a family mucking through some tough stuff. And also comes with dogs and donuts.
Huge turnout for 6 author reading tonight in Providence! Fills my heart.
Morning read. Loving the family in Pretend We Are Lovely, especially Enid, the little girl.
Today's library snag! (Maybe doesn't really count as a snag, since I was on the waiting list for weeks...)
Really loving Goodbye Vitamin on audio, but didn't realize it was only 4.5 hours long! Need more audiobooks to get me through the next 11 weeks of training... any suggestions? (I generally prefer 1st person narrators for audiobooks...just because they are easier to follow when I'm running at breakneck speed 😉)
