Heard the author at Random House Summer Open House in July 2017.

Another author I met this spring. Book is inspired.

This has been on my night stand since I got back from the Random House Spring Open House where we heard the author speak. I kept it there and went onto read other books until yesterday when I was home sick. It's revelatory and I've been taking notes! The focus is on empathy and who can't use more empathy! This is short but powerful!

This was assigned reading from a committee I'm on but I was pleased to read it. This is like a John Irving novel with its twists and turns. And it just so happens to feature and focus on the lives of Indian immigrants in present day Cleveland. I cared about these characters.

This book comes out next month. If you like food memoirs and your not put off by mention of faith and devotion, read this book!

This book is not for me. If I wasn't reading it for a committee, I would have bailed.

I pre-ordered this book to get the advance copy and I'm really enjoying it so far.

Juxtaposed reading a novel set in Vietnam with my morning walk at West Point. Thi isn't an easy book to read or listen to, in my case, but vitally important if you want to expand your world view.

Listening to audiobooks is my favorite until I get burnt out with heavier fare. This is proving to be a pleasant change of pace. And, yes, I do ❤️ memoirs!

Turning the page of entertainment Weekly 8/18 & 25 edition to see this, makes me smile. Film adaptation of this captivating novel out in October.

Yep I was there at Book Expo 2017 in NYC to learn about new books but, best of all to be in the room for this. The book isn't all fun and games, Sen. Franken explains TONS about how work gets done in the senate.

Yep that's the man himself, Marc Maron, in conversation with Sen. Al Franken last month at Book Expo! ❤️ this book IF you're a fan of the WTF with Marc Maron podcast. He and his producer Brendan McDonald have done a fantastic job of putting this volume together.

Reading for my library's cookbook club July meeting and I'm really enjoying it!

Fortunately for me, this book turned up on the to-be-considered list for Reading Across RI 2018 after it was already in my TBR! (And I own it because I went to see the author recently. Quite a story. Wasn't exactly what I thought it would be but I liked it!

Listened yesterday as we drove from Syracuse back to Rhode Island. Made a detour at the Norman Rockwell Museum which is fantastic!

Wally Lamb is a master story teller. I really cared about Felix and his family. Only wish it had been longer!

After hearing this dynamic author I eagerly jumped into reading this and felt like it dragged for me. I wanted more of her experience and less technical stuff, I guess. Great concept and very interesting but slow reading.

Fortunate to hear the lovely author Rebecca Romney last evening and for some unknown reason I did NOT snap her photo! She is an excellent speaker so if you get the chance to hear her, go for it!

First time I read WWII fiction set in Hungary. This appears to come from the author 's family history. It was tough getting through the sad and brutal aspects but certainly well-written.

Listening to this as I drove to my son's house in Friday evening so I could babysit the following day. The story is not what I expected but the second half drew me in and helped the trip go faster.

Not all actors can develop a personal interest into a second career the way he has but his love of science is fascinating.

After hearing the author at the Simon & Schuster book club matinee in March, I was eager to delve into this one.

Fictional account of a Hollywood star's colorful personal life made for great reading on vacation.

Fascinating and well done piece of first person journalism. Didn't care for the reader but kept me company on a long car ride!

Loved listening to Lisa See at the Simon & Schuster book club matinee on March 11th.

If you're a fan of the series, you won't want to miss this book!

Although it veers towards predictable at times, this a solid story with lovely references about children's book authors.

Knowing I will see this author at an event in May, I downloaded this from Overdrive and so far, so good 😊

Really enjoyed this one! Loved going back in history and learning more about Melville and Hawthorne.

Listening to the novel was tough because any time I read about a young person making mistakes it pains me. Learning about flowers was fascinating.

Re-reading this book before seeing the show at Providence Performing Arts Center next month. My library is doing a ticket giveaway so if you're near Lincoln, RI, stop in to win before 1/31!

Not sure how I feel about this. Some interesting twists and turns but the epistolary aspect got old for me. Liked the references to UConn, Vermont and NYC. Curious to learn if it resonates more with younger readers.

At the February edition of the Point Street Reading Series I'll get to hear Author Abby Fabiaschi read from this intriguing novel. To be honest, I didn't like it at first but I was satisfied when it was over. Very thought provoking.
