Annnnd done with my first ever 24 hour readathon! Now for a nap 😴#readathon #deweys24hourreadathon
Starting on book 2! But not before popping over to my local indie to celebrate independent book store day! #readathon #deweys24hourreadathon #indiebookstoreday
Belated pic of my TBR for the 24 hour #readathon ! Starting with the 39 steps by John Buchan, spy classic!
A Latina lesbian from the Bronx goes to Portland to intern with a feminist author she admires, the high jinx that ensue are beautifully written in this book. This was such a great breath of fresh air ❤️
This book is the April pick for the criminally good book club run on Instagram. This book is super creepy and blurs the lines between thriller and horror. Horror is not my thing and several of the scenes made me super uncomfortable but it is a fantastically crafted, chilling and thought provoking read about obsession, guilt and control.
In anticipation of the Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon I participated in one of the mini 2 hour Readathons during which I finished Every Body Yoga by Jessamyn Stanley. I absolutely LOVED this book. Jessamyn keeps it raw and real. If you've ever been curious about yoga but felt like you don't have a stereotypical yoga body This is the book for you!

Look what came in the mail!! It's my April @bookofthemonthclub pick: American War by Omar El Akkad! I will dive into my blanket fort and not emerge for several hours. I can't wait to dive right in!
This is a gripping dystopian novel that answers the question: What might happen if America were to turn its most devastating policies and deadly weapons upon itself?

Trying to go from book monogamy to polygamy, and I'm struggling a bit! Here is my currently reading pile. Do you read one book at a time or multiple books at once?

The amazing @Liberty is doing a 36 hour read-a-thon! Let's cheer her on! This is my entry for her #READATHONANIMAL giveaway!
This title caught my eye at the @AstoriaBookshop and I can't wait to get into it!
I ended up liking this book much better than 'We should all be feminist' it's a short book but it feels like it's starting to flesh out some ideas that were overlooked in the former book. I normally don't like to give my books away but I have this to a friend as soon as I was done to spread good feminist vibes!

March was a bit of a slumpy month for me. Looking forward to diving into April! Already Prepping for the Dewey's 24 Hour Read-a-thon! Is anyone else participating? What books did you read in March that you liked? #marchwrapup #allgrownup
When you go to the bookstore, "just to look" and come out with 3 books whoops! ? I have zero self control. The mystery section of @strandbookstore is one of my go to happy places ❤️?

I'm so excited for my February #bookofthemonth books! There were so many good choices this month but @bookriot podcast All The Books really sold me on these two. Has anyone read them? #botm #botmmember
Just finished this book and it is amazing! 1/2 mystery, 1/2 desperate housewives of Australia, this book is bubbly, biting and heartfelt all at once. I loved the characters and the relationships between them. Perfectly described as a "pink martini laced with arsenic" I didn't think this book was my cup of tea but I can't stop raving about it. Can't wait for the mini series!
I got this book on a recent trip to Seattle. While the mystery element might not be the most original, the atmospheric setting of rural Alaska, the exploration of race, poverty and the blurry parts of Justice along with a complex and likeable protagonist make this the perfect read for a cold and rainy day with hot chocolate of course! Can't wait to pick up the next one in the series! #mystery #firstnations #police
Just finished the Rule of Four! I've been in a very murder- in-academia mood lately. This is what would happen if Dead Poets Society and The Da Vinci code had a baby but also a beautifully written coming of age story about 4 friends attending Princeton in the 90's who become sucked into solving the mystery behind an ancient renaissance text, but someone else is after the book... and they're willing to kill to get it. 😱

"The first to go will be the first of ten" such is the solution to a puzzle anonymously sent to all the university faculty and students, hours before the dean jumps from his 10 story office window, or was he pushed? Soon more puzzles and more deaths follow each uncovering a shocking secret. Someone is trying to send a message, but who and why? Simultaneously a brainy murder mystery and searing critique of the higher ed system. 4/5 ⭐️
How is it December already??? I hope to get to this great pile of books this month. This is my December #TBR pile! #currentlyreading PhDeath by a James Carse. What are you reading? 🎄⭐️

Short but powerful read about not letting the opportunities to be kind pass you by. The perfect pick-me-up after a long day (and in these crazy days)and a great introduction to a new author for me. So happy to have won this gem from the @bookriot giveaway! You guys rock! Also a perfect stocking stuffer 🎄#georgesaunders #comfortreads #currentlyreading
