It snowed 9 inches overnight, on top of the couple of feet of snow already on the ground. That means theres nothing to do but wrap up in a fuzzy blanket and try to put a dent in the ol' TBR.

First book of my staycation readathon done! A pretty impressive first novel. Scalzi can always be trusted for wry, self-deprecating characters, snappy dialogue, and a surprising amount of heart. .

I am simply devouring this book. Insanely well researched, heartfelt and important work. #truecrime
Saturday morning #coffee and #books - just finished this memoir by @tmariem83 and it blew my mind. I had to stop underlining passages because I realized I was essentially underlining the entire book. Go on and read it. You will not be disappointed. .

I've been book hopping lately, not really landing on anything riveting. Until I landed on The Blinds. Sooo good, even Jinx-cat thinks so! #botm #bookofthemonthpick #catsoflitsy
Just finished the first book in this trilogy omnibus thingie and I am thoroughly creeped out.
I wanted to read a book by an Indigenous author while visiting Alberta, and I definitely made a great choice. This novel was magical, lyrical, heartbreaking, inspiring. I simply loved it.
Clocking in at over 500 pages, but it definitely didn't feel long. Very well paced, and showcases Sanderson's amazing world building skill.
Never before has a single phrase described so purely what I want most from this life.
I just couldn't. I hung in there as long as I could. Please note that it wasn't the cannibalism that stopped me - I didn't even get that far. It was just so slooooow. And I was hoping for a critique of manifest destiny, but none was given. The Donners weren't heroes - they were ill-prepared colonialists who got in over their heads. Sad, but not admirable.
Some light listening for the next 39 HOURS. #epicfantasy #classicfantasy #WoT #audiobooks
The book re-organization progresses with Todd Cat's intense supervision. #catsoflitsy #litsykitty

We switched the spare bedroom and the library. My books haven't been organized in the two years we've lived here. Do I tackle this, or just shove the books in the shelves as they fit? WWMDD? (What would Melvil Dewey do?) #library #overwhelmingbooktask #catcameo
Husband keeps the house very cool, so I get to read under a quilt... and two cats... #catsoflitsy
1) reading way outside my comfort zone with this historical romance
2) I read this line really quickly and thought it read "now, with the dungeons of adolescence." Kind of disappointed that it didn't.

I'm preparing to get emotional with this one. I might need a lighter book to read in tandem...
How does JE write about normal crap in a way that makes you think it's the most important and beautiful thing in the world?! Amazing.
As a feminist, I chose to read this as a critique on society's tragic and harmful objectification of girls. There's an awesome essay on Medium.com by Sarah Leeves that says it better than I can!
Still chilly in the mornings up here. I forgot my slippers, so I've improvised some foot-warmth while doing my early morning porch reading. #springinthenorthwoods #booksncoffee #happywednesday
I love these lil Picador Modern Classic editions. So wee. So classy.
I so wanted to like this book. There were some witty bits that I enjoyed, but on the whole I found it slow and kind of boring. I was kind of relieved to be done with it.
I wish there was a rating even better than "pick," because I would give it to this book. It was pretty much perfect. I can't wait to lend it to my nieces!

I thought I wouldn't be as engaged reading this again (first time audio, this time with my eyes). But it was just as great, and I picked up a lot more. I just wish someone would do it the justice it deserves on screen. Give it a limited run Netflix series with a decent budget and a talented director! Please!
