I realize the list of books presented by The Great American Read is not a best of list, but merely a list of what people have voted on as their favorites. So I was a bit surprised to see no Hosseini titles especially since he is a well read author with popular titles. What books were you surprised that did not make the list?

I don't understand how this book doesn't get more love than it does. Deep down, this book is like Scream but in book form. An gift to horror fans, this book contains nods to Rebecca, the Shining, and other fantastic horror novels and movies. It was @Cinfhen whose posts about this book pushed me to finally get it off of my #TBR stack & read it back in February. She commented on how it was overlooked & I agree--it's a very underrated book & it's too good to be underrated--an interesting combination of speculative fiction & thriller that takes place in an America where slavery is legal in four states. I listened to the audiobook which was excellent.

Overshadowed by Collins‘ other titles The Moonstone and The Woman in White but unfairly so IMO! I loved this roller coaster ride of a classic Victorian sensation novel😍 #ReadingResolutions #underratedbook

I thoroughly enjoyed Security, it‘s a fast paced, maybe a bit predictably gory, novel that I read in one sitting coz I didn‘t want to put it down. It certainly deserves more than its 3⭐️ rating on Goodreads & it‘s 64% here. If @Liberty loves it & I love it, you should give it another chance. Coz we both rock a good thriller!🤘

Maybe it isn't underrated and I just run in the wrong circles? But I feel like this trilogy should have gotten far more attention and better reviews. I've read the whole thing through twice, several years apart, and loved both experiences. Old, young, guy, gal, I feel like this is enjoyable for anyone who likes dystopian novels and zombies.

I wasn't really sure what to go with today's prompt, so I decided to go with a personal definition. You ever have a recollection of a book that doesn't match your rating? I feel like this ended up as an #underratedbook in my own estimation. I remember really liking it, but only gave it 3 stars on #goodreads. Perhaps my rating system needs improvement?
