It‘s been a while since I read this. I recall a house with memories and a story to share. Typical Susan Meissner, which is to say I loved it.

Mary Rose & Harold Grapes‘ lives change drastically when their house is uprooted during a violent storm, causing it/them to fall into the ocean below. Their home is totally #swallowedinthesea.Eventually they end up among oceans of icebergs. The sound of the icebergs cracking, crashing, & crevices opening to swallow their home up is as if they are hearing & feeling the miracle ofthe #speedofsound.
#julycoldplay @Eggs Chuck Yeager was a test pilot who is credited as one of the first to break the #speedofsound. I always admire intrepid people that take the next step and make history.
“How long before I get in?
Before it starts, before I begin?
How long before you decide?
Before I know what it feels like?”

This sounded like a conversation that Jonas and the Giver would have about memories. I always enjoy this one, even though it‘s a typical “school requirement” read!

There is a “romantic” legend about the Gloster Javelin that goes like this:
The Daily Express reported that the Javelin was incapable of breaking the sound barrier. Deciding to prove them wrong, a team of RAF aircrew took off in a Javelin one night, flew over London and broke the #SpeedOfSound, creating a sonic boom over Fleet Street.
