#nonfiction2019 #somethingwithlawormedicine

Only 2 more - can she make it?? 😉

Riveted_Reader_Melissa Yes, She Can! You got this! Plus you already have bingo multiple ways, so you‘re already a winner!!! 5y
Amiable You‘ve read some awesome books this year, so you‘ve already won! 👍🏼 5y
BarbaraTheBibliophage Noticed you have law / medicine left. This is a graphic novel that‘s not too long and also real life. It was on Hoopla and maybe still is! Just in case you need ideas. 5y

Kaila-ann @Riveted_Reader_Melissa I‘m also an overachiever, I want to finish 😉 lol. This has really helped me branch out in to nonfiction this year and I‘ve loved it. Thank you! 5y
Kaila-ann @Amiable it has definitely been a good reading year 😊. 5y
Kaila-ann @BarbaraTheBibliophage I actually used The Ghost Map for that prompt but I‘m always happy to take recommendations 😊. I‘ll definitely check that one out, thank you! 5y

Thank you to #NetGalley and to the publisher for an ARC of this book.

In the early 1900s, San Francisco faced a plague epidemic; yet, it‘s not in the history books. This is a tale of racism, political power/coverup, egos, and finally one man who eradicated the disease from the city. Randall‘s prose is spellbinding and brings to light this potential catastrophe. It‘s a quick, short read, but amazingly good. I learned so much; highly recommended.

squirrelbrain sounds great! 👍 6y
Hooked_on_books Oh good! I ordered this from Powell‘s and am (im)patiently waiting for it to arrive. Someday. Soon. 6y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa Sounds very good! Stacked! And yes, definitely counts! 6y

#somethingwrittenbyaPOC Why I‘m No Longer Talking to White People About Race
#somethingwithlawormedicine Vaccinated
#somethingyouwerentlookingfor The Good Girls Revolt
and lastly
#somethingwithanunlikeablecharacter Fire &Fury

@Riveted_Reader_Melissa

Riveted_Reader_Melissa Great job! I‘m pacing myself out too... I want to stretch it out over the year. 6y
SconsinBookyBadger @Riveted_Reader_Melissa good to know! I‘ve seen other littens with almost filled cards and I was like I need to catch up. 😂 🐢 🐇 6y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @AnansiGirl Yes 😂 I few did coverall already! But I definitely need to space out my non-fiction with some other genres. So take your time, you have over half the year yet! 6y
Smarkies Good to know that other people are also going as slowly as me! 😂😂 6y
SconsinBookyBadger @Smarkies we‘re doing ok with reading at our own pace 🙌🏼 😄 6y

Pillar of this book is a comprehensive research, and author didn‘t just dissect the trial into day to day events, but she also gave them the frame in interesting social study of this era. If you are looking for something more in true crime books, then this book is for you!

My today‘s first walk for #BFC After few days of ☔️ we have finally some ☀️.

BarbaraBB I have yet to read this, I promised myself after reading 6y

Simona @Riveted_Reader_Melissa I liked it, and combining true crime, women‘s status in society and law could easily be too much ... but not in this book. A healthy dose of everything. 6y

#Pop19 #TwoBooksThatShareTheSameTitle1 This review is for the tagged book. I highly recommend Bad Blood, it‘s crazy they managed to get away with this for so long! There were more than a few people saying “this doesn‘t smell right” but no one paid attention. As a person who needs regular blood tests, I hope they both rot in jail honestly. #NonFiction2019 #SomethingWithLawOrMedicine #LLB19 #FromBookishMarginaliasLitsyTBR #LitsyAtoZ2019 #LetterB

MyNamesParadise This is my book club‘s pick for March and just checked it out from the library! Hope I‘m able to finish it by our meeting! 6y

Ran out of space on my review. Great book that would meet quite a few squares but I'm using it for #somethingwithlawormedicine
Examines the impact of factory farming and overuse of antibiotics via the chicken industry.
