I‘m going to back to mermaids because contrary to my high expectations of #Shadowsong, it‘s boring me right now (anyone else have this issue?), and I‘m going to look up some background of the mermaid myth before I dig in to something else. That has totally depressed me!

pickI picked this up because it was sold to me as "inspired by the Labyrinth" which I adored growing up. This definitely has elements from the film while being its own story entirely. I was completely enraptured and spell-bound by the Goblin King. The writing is fantastically lyrical and I could hear the music flowing from its description on the page.
