Sorry to be a #ScroogyMe with my reviews of Christie books lately 🙊 I guess her international intrigue novels are not for me. I did enjoy certain characters, especially the two female ones, Bundle and Virginia Revel. Their dialogue was witty and sharp and always at the expense of the men 😆 But I found the plot plodding, though reading her books in sequence has been eye-opening because you can see her development as a writer. #agathachristieclub

Took my MIL to see this and it was lovely! Now I'm soaking in a pomegranate infused bath and catching up on the #christmascarolbuddyread! I'm a few days behind because #scroogyme is peopled out. I've been rather emotionally drained and not up to reading for the past few days; the holidays tend to send me into introvert overdrive and I am unable to decompress due to one event coming after the other. I do love Christmas though, just overwhelmed.

I almost didn't read today's installment of the #ChristmasCarolBuddyRead because #ScroogyMe was exhausted from driving all over the county after work, chauffeuring kids and running some last minute errands. However, I'm glad I kept up. I enjoyed reading about the Crachit's enjoying Christmas Day. It was a nice wrap up to a busy day.
I'm posting this still of the Marley & Marley musical number because I made my kids watch this with me yesterday. 😂

Today marks 174 years since A Christmas Carol was first published, and today is my birthday too. Talk about the perfect #ScroogyMe! The image is a rare first edition, sadly not mine. Love the Cratchit family! Does make you want to stop and take a break from all the holiday craziness to be thankful for all the good and sometimes you need a reminder of that! #scroogyme would be getting testy with others when there is too much to do!

#ScroogyMe When I was kid on Christmas morning we took turns (from youngest to oldest) picking gifts: you couldn‘t peek at the tag, and if it was for you or from you it had to go back. The gift had to be opened and passed round to be admired and the giver thanked before we went again. With 7 kids + Mom & Dad it took hours!! But it was so much fun. So I get quite Scroogy when I see people tear into all the gifts at once. 😂😂😂
