Ripper Confidential: New Research on the Whitechapel Murders | Tom Wescott

Our school‘s fabulous principal 👩🏻‍🏫 says to use this week for health and well-being and not stress about curriculum. So, after a super fun nature scavenger hunt 🍀🐌🍄🐍 at the greenway, and MUCH needed fresh air, my boys are on their tablets and I‘m in the tub 🛁📖. Gotta read this book during the day! 🙈 And I‘m using my kids‘ tub because husband is working from home 💻 in our bedroom. We‘re adapting well, I guess. #rona

LapReader We are still hard at work at school creating an online platform for the kids that is supposed to already be up and running. The boss did bring in a free coffee caravan for us yesterday though. He said it was to keep us awake. The chai latte was awesome. 5y

It‘s not super peaceful because this is their bathroom, and those mofos are nearby and LOUD, but I‘ll take it. 😄 5y

AmyG My favorite Sedaris book. I love him....especially his grandmother. My son ran i to him in NYC a few weeks ago in this fancy store...with his sister Amy. He was trying on men‘s coulottes and asked my son how he looked. They chatted for a few minutes and my son said they were just so nice. My comfort reads now...nothing about pandemics or end of the world. 😳 (edited) 5y

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I knew nearly zero details of Jack the Ripper, and thoroughly appreciate going into stories blind. Here, my first experience is that of the victim‘s lives and circumstances. I‘ll read about the murders later. These women deserve to be known. Rubenhold scrupulously describes life in Victorian London‘s East End. Such a fascinating era. These poor women. My heart breaks.
