3 books read, all ebooks, 2 novels (1 in translation) & 1 short stories. Favourite: Convenience Store Woman

Not much reading this month! I had surgery on Thursday & am now in the 'do nothing' stage of recovery (no lifting, no operating toasters...), so might get bonus reading time in July. Looking fwd to getting back into challenges etc after a couple of months of chaos.

And the #jbuk folks have been amazing - thank you 😘

knittedgnome Hope you have a speedy recovery! 6y
Slajaunie Hope you have plenty of time to read! 📚 6y
Kaye Get well soon. I‘m glad you don‘t have to operate a toaster for awhile. Let someone else do it. Take care. ♥️ 6y

In May, I read 6 books, all of which were REALLY good. America is not the heart & The map of us were both REALLY REALLY good. Was pleased to get back into my #europebybook translated reads, & am loving NetGalley & my kindle right now.

Also moved to a town with amazing views, did absurd amounts of cleaning, & am getting my head round some medical stuff. Hoping for actual Wifi (BT 👎) and more Litsy time in June.

#maywrapup #ro18

BkClubCare Happy June! Moving is always an adventure. Best wishes for a safe landing with excellent wifi 6y
rockpools @BkClubCare Thank you - and happy June to you! This year is certainly being a adventure 😊 6y

A very delayed #AprilWrapUp #ro18. I finished 8 books this month (way more than expected!) and although I liked most of them lots, I wouldn't want to pick a standout.
2 NF, 1 GN, 1 poetry, 4 novels.
2 audio, 3 ebook, 3 print.
0 in translation 😖
I finally finished my ReadersFirst backlog- and promptly signed up for NetGalley 🙄. And reading my own books spectacularly didn't happen!

Andrew65 Well done 😊 7y
tjwill I still haven‘t done an April wrap up, so better late than never, I believe! 7y
Megabooks Awesome! 😎😎 6y

I don't usually work from a #tbr, and even more rarely stick to it. But there's a #firsttime for everything, so here are my plans for April. I'm already reading the ones marked with *. All of this is definitely going to happen this month! (😹😹🤣🙃😂😹. Yeah, right!)

TrishB Good luck 👍🏻from the person who never plans..... 7y
BookishMe @TrishB Hehee... But the promise of planning is hard to resist ;p 7y
TrishB @BookishMe maybe I need to give it a go!! 😁 7y

BookishMe @TrishB I usually plan for the fun of it. For me, it's no big deal if the planned books are not read. Obviously more exciting titles would have distracted me 🤣🤣 7y
Cinfhen There‘s a first for everything...good luck!!! Ambitious planning 💚😀 7y
Mdargusch Good luck! I never had a TBR until Litsy 😁 7y
Reviewsbylola I go back and forth on having a TBR. 7y
emilyhaldi Planning my tbr in advance is hard for me too... good luck! 👏🏻 7y
rockpools @BookishMe 😎This is obviously the attitude I need to take! 7y
BookishMe @RachelO 😄😄 love your exciting list! 7y
rockpools @TrishB It's the ARCs that have pushed me into it! The need to read them sooner rather than whenever has scrambled my brain a little. 😬 Spectacularly predictable really - but I was a bit over-enthusiastic to begin with. 🙄 7y
rockpools @Cinfhen 😆 Ha! It would be a first. Realistically, if I get through 4-or-more of these, I'm probably winning. 7y
rockpools @Mdargusch Thank you! Tbh, I don't think it even occurred to me until Litsy! 7y
rockpools @Reviewsbylola That's probably the way I'm going to go - think I'd end up resenting it if I do it too often... 7y
rockpools @emilyhaldi Thank you! I think I'll be back to my chaotic self next month - hopefully with some of these completed 🙂 7y
rockpools @BookishMe Exciting! Not stressful! Got it!! 😘 7y
rockpools #ro18 Just so I can check up on myself at the end of the month 7y
BookishMe Of course! 💕💕 7y

#MarchWrapUp #ro18 This was a REALLY good reading month for me. What it Means... is a new favourite short story collection/author, and ❤️💗❤️🐦 To the Bright Edge of the World.

Stats: 3 nf, 2 poetry, 1 children's, 1 short story, 3 novels. 10 total

Lots of short books - I'm really enjoying those right now. As I tend to avoid chunksters & read umpteen things at once, I think it 'allows' me to concentate on 1 bigger book, & still read erratically!

Cathythoughts 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻well done 💕 7y

I read some fab books this month!
The Fair Fight, Exit West, Names for the Sea and Dietland were all Very Strong Picks!

In challenges, I finished this quarter's #Booked2018 prompts:
Olympic Sport - Fair Fight
Unconventional Romance - Exit West
Body Positive - Dietland
And for
#readaroundtheworld 's trip to Turkey I read Divorce Turkish Style.

And in other news I joined ReadersFirst and won some ARCs, which I now need to hurry up & read... #ro18

Lindy I loved Exit West too. ❤️ 7y
rockpools @Lindy It was too short (or I read it too quickly!). I need to read it again already! 7y
readordierachel Your review got me to pick up Fair Fight and I am loving it! 7y

rockpools @ReadOrDieRachel I'm so glad! It kept going places I didn't expect. The next time I'm in Bristol, I'm totally taking myself on a literary tour to The Hatchet 🤼‍♂️🥊 (Not quite sure how I'll explain this to whoever I'm with, mind..) 7y
Lindy @RachelO I recommend the audiobook read by the author. 😊 7y
rockpools @Lindy Good plan! Thanks. 7y
