pickRapunzel is a classic story about a princess who is trapped by her mother in a tower. Rapunzel has beautiful long hair that she uses to her advantage to escape.
pickCress was a great continuation of the Lunar Chronicles series! This Rapunzel is locked in a satellite. I loved the nonstop action moving from chapter to chapter. I was so tickled to learn in the author interview at the end that she‘s a Firefly fan and got some inspiration for this series from there.

This was funny, light but nuanced, and overall a clever subversion of familiar tropes (& stereotypes/double binds familiar to most women with time and experience). I think it pairs well with the traditional fairytales mentioned (Cinderella, Snow White, Rapunzel) to offer grounding and an alternate perspective. ⚖️🤷🏻♀️💅🏻✨💖
