📚📚📚📚📚 I understand why this split the #pulitzerprize for 2023. It is an unconventional story structure focusing on a Wall Street tycoon in the year leading up to the 1929 crash and shortly after. Written in 4 parts with 4 different POV‘s sharing the story of this person. The first part did get slow about 1/2 through but the rest goes quickly and creates an entire picture of the character.

Amazing! I‘ve read a lot of Erdrich; this may be my favorite. The stories that she weaves together, the depth of her characters, and the love and care she takes with every word and sentence makes her one of her generation‘s best. While not everyone loves her narrative style, I felt it was effective for this #audiobook. I met one more #JubilantJuly goal today by reading this book.
I loved this adventurous story of Arthur Less, a gay middle-aged man who goes on a trip around the world to have an excuse to miss his ex‘s wedding.
The shifting pov and time frames were a challenge for me, but I still enjoyed riding along on Less‘s journey. It also won a #PulitzerPrize. Bonus points for #OwnVoices . Read if you like love stories.

FINALLY finished this one after reading it for 3.5 months. It was so good and well researched, just heavy and emotionally difficult to read in some places. It is well worth any reader's time.

One is dedicated to domestic life and motherhood, one is a teacher and social reformer, and one is a socialite who just wants to enjoy life.
