I loved the descriptive language used to breathe life into the marsh and allow it to become a central character in this rich story. I loved everything about this book, while feeling such anger toward many of the key people involved. Character development was intricate and the growing tension was just right. There is just one major hole that I wonder about in the story. I will add it in comments as a spoiler. #audiobook #naturelover

cherinium My biggest question is about Chase's wife. Where was she in the aftermath of his death? I don't recall any mention of her reaction to his death or to the ensuing trial. I really thought she was going to be the killer, because her absence was such a glaring hole to me. I thought she wasn't mentioned in an attempt to make the reader forget her and discount her as a suspect. Did she even care that he had died? Did she attend the trial? 6y

ReadingSusan @cherinium I wondered that too! I was like where is the wife?! I thought it was either her, Jumpin or Kya. I am so happy with how it ended though. It was perfect. 5y
