Quick book journal update on my attempt to scale #mountbr in 2022! I‘m on a quite strict book buying ban for another 45 days and trying to reduce my owned tbr mountain by 100 books in 2022. Here‘s where we are so far!

Reading through books I‘ve bought but failed to read helps me feel like I‘m earning back wasted money which is a nice feeling.

#behindthewheel reminded me of this book that I need to read. Castledown was a favorite, but this third book came out so many years later that I was not able to read without rereading the first two and they were put back onto #mountbr where they may have turned into diamonds by the crushing weight above them. #maymoviemagic

Quiet rainy Saturday. 1st part I wasn't sure what was going on. Checked Goodreads reviews and saw that it was 3 Novellas that came together in the end. Once I started 2nd part I was hooked. Excepting getting up for more tea, I finished book in one 'sitting'. Here is my #mounTBR (well my physical books anyway). Clearly my wife likes to take me to thrift stores. I hardly ever buy a new book and almost never spend over a couple of dollars on any one book. Wohoo! I've somehow managed to climb Mt.Ararat for the #mountbr challenge. Finished the 48th book this morning. Now to convince myself that this does not mean I should go for Everest... (No I didn't actually climb the mountain though I would like to do so one day when I can put down my books long enough 😅)

Fellow Littens have said this was too slow for them, and I can't disagree. But I decided to persist despite the heroines being impossibly naive. I put this in the mystery, not thriller category. 2.5 stars.

First book finished in 2017! I enjoyed it mostly because of twists at the end I wasn't expecting. I literally listened to the last third in two days time, without ever getting in my car. At the end I put other pressing things off to finish. But it's a slow burn ...
