These two books have absolutely nothing in common, except...I finished both yesterday, they‘re both great, and they both brought me to tears on multiple occasions. I read The One-in-a-Million Boy, a beautifully written novel, for my book club and have SO many quotations marked! House Arrest, a YA/middle-grade novel in verse, is the journal of a boy that details the year after he steals a wallet. (I stayed up waaayy too late finishing this one!)

So many people were doing this in book clubs, etc. and came highly recommended. After a few months of a reading slump this book about a cantankerous old lady and a boy's record breaking dream was just what I needed. There's so much more depth and heart to this magical story. What a great book to end the year with! #monicawood #oneinamillionboy
