This is a legal thriller that deals with a lawyer at the top of his game, who spirals out of control after his wife is murdered. After getting his act together he is charged with the murder of a client's wife and must bring his best to keep his freedom. It was a fun, easy read, although I did feel the little bit of romance in the story was underplayed and felt flat. I still enjoyed it and I would pick up the next one if the series continues. 3.5/5

Hmmm 🤔. Sooo this was a hard book to start but I hate to leave a book once Iv started. The book started with sooo many characters (and I‘m not sure if anyone else creates images in there head when reading) it was very tough to keep up. Once I stuck with it, got easier and the book was so-so, was an ok book. 📖

Mehso-so

Mediocre, predictable detective novel about three PIs with unexplained vast wealth. One is a heroin addict who largely escapes the typical consequences of that problem because he is extremely rich. I did like how, unlike most detective novels, this story has the PIs working several cases at once, but that is about all I liked.

Panpan

This book is dark and violent with a very open ending. Not for me.

Great story, and the pace is perfect. I did find that I'd sussed the main "bad guy" within their first few appearances. My main gripe was the main character, Lucy, as she was one of the most unlikeable characters I've ever come across... Who leaves their young child alone so often?! I wish more police would just tell Lucy to shut up, stop arguing with the police and to stay in her lane. She was awful.
This would be a decent palette cleanser.
