I have nothing in common on policy with Liz Cheney and don‘t get me started on her dad . In this moment, where she picks country over party she‘s my hero. A well written book with a bullseye view on the dangers of not defending the constitution & details of January 6th that could only be told by her. A memoir & a warning indeed! Go VOTE 🗳️

JenReadsAlot I completely agree with you! 3w

Warning: political post! I commend Liz for having the balls to stand up and do what is right for the country. We need to vote!!

TheBookHippie Honestly I‘d have never believed her father would be telling us to vote blue. 🤯🤯🤯🤯 I‘m here for it! (Shocker I know) 2mo

KadaGul @JenReadsAlot @TheBookHippie @dabbe I was shocked 😳 when I heard her speak months ago about how she supports Democrats vs her party. 💙💙💙💙💙 #GoDEMS (edited) 2mo
AmyG While I may have much disagreement with her policies, I have such respect for her standing up for what she believes is the right thing. Seems like integrity is hard to find these days. (edited) 2mo
marleed I‘m still shocked that her stance is not the norm for the Republican party. I honestly believed there would be a reset following Jan 6. But here we are. 2mo

This book was eye opening to say the least, Cheney explains what happened from the aftermath of the 2020 election craziness to the January 6 attack. She explains everything that she witnessed and how she so adamantly tried to express how important the Constitution is and how provisions were put in place for a reason! Its disheartening how many in our government stand behind Trump and not upholding their oath to the Constitution

AmyG I listened to the audiobook as Cheney read it. I may not agree on policy but I have so much respect for her. 2mo
DieAReader 🥳Great! 2mo
Areader2 @AmyG yes I agree I am not a fan of her policies either but I respect her too and even more so now she endorsed Kamala! so many cower to Trump and ignore their oath, to me is extremely scary and just the fact he is running for president again after everything that happened blows my mind (edited) 2mo

Such a super cute and fun set of prompts!
Sadly, I can no longer find who created or shared it to give them credit.

As a Canadian, American politics over the last 8 years has been both fascinating and scary. Behavior that would never have been accepted from politicians before seems to have become commonplace and many seem to have no integrity. I don't agree with all of Cheney's politics, but really admire her bravery for standing up for the truth and share her fear for the next election. The book was a riveting read that I finished in two days. 4.5/5 stars!

I don‘t think anything in here was new, really, but having it all laid out, clearly and emphatically, was impressive. I don‘t agree with Cheney‘s politics, but I can admire the courage of her convictions in this instance. My dad recommended this book; he said it was “probably the most overwhelming book” he‘s ever read. I recommend it if you can stomach more politics and a lot of Trump. It‘s a good reminder of what we stand to lose later this year.

dabbe I feel like I'll be holding my breath until the second week of November. 😱 10mo
Suet624 I really wish this Trump nightmare was over. 10mo
ravenlee @dabbe no joke. @Suet624 I just don‘t know what it‘s going to take to get him out of the running for good. It‘s scary the way he won‘t go away. And I worry about the next generation of this type, too, because it won‘t just disappear. 10mo

Suet624 @ravenlee do you get notes from Jessica Craven “Chop Wood, Carry Water”? She‘s on Substack. Very clear ideas on day to day things you can do to elect Dems. On Sunday she lets you know all the good things that happened politically which is always lovely to see. 10mo
ravenlee @Suet624 I didn‘t know about that, thank you! I read Heather Cox Richardson every day and it‘s amazingly informative but not always inspiring. 10mo
Suet624 I read Heather‘s column too. If you don‘t mind I‘ll add two others that have been very helpful and often hopeful to me. They are both on Substack. Check out Robert Hubbell and Simon Rosenberg (his is called Hopium Chronicles). You can select the free edition. Over time I decided to pay for them because they both offered me so much. Hubbell includes an audio if you prefer to listen. 10mo

Well written. Nothing really new. This has become a cottage industry. I‘m reminded of how exhausted I am of politics.

dabbe And this is another election year. 😳 10mo
