This is a short story collection of Agatha Christie - all Hercule Poirot ones. I especially liked the one of Davenheim because I did have such an unexpected twist at the end and I really like the TV version with David Suchet.

Read this for Mother-Daughter Murder Mystery Book Club with @AmyK1 this month! I was completely stumped by this one, and thoroughly enjoyed it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was February‘s mother-daughter murder mystery book club pick with @wideeyedreader I liked it but was SO FAR off on who did it 😂 Just once I‘d like to be right.
Reading the background information on Styles. A few weeks ago I bought the new „Poirot“ by Aldrigde only to realize I have an older version of this kind of background info book by Anne Hart already on my bookshelf. 🙈🙈🙈 Okay, this way I can check out the development of the Agatha Christie research from 1990 to 2022. 😜 #offtheshelf
This was pretty cool- especially the way the truth is uncovered toward the end - it wasn‘t what you‘d expect in a Poirot.
Hercule Poirot‘s voice was very gentle as he said:
“Can you not accept facts? She loved Roderick Welman. What of it? With you, she can be happy. . . .?”

“Sad Cypress“ is a classic whodunit that involves complex characters, red herrings, and a surprising twist. It examines the nature of truth and lies, and the importance of looking beyond the surface to find the actual motives for crime. It is a story of how appearances can be deceiving, and how even those who seem most unlikely to be guilty can be responsible for the most heinous acts...
4 Stars • Richard Abernethie dies, and his family gathers for the funeral. His sister Cora, known for her eccentricities, remarks that "someone must have helped him on with it," suggesting murder. Initially dismissed as a nonsensical comment, it later becomes the crux of the mystery. Cora herself is found murdered shortly after, making her comment seem prophetic. ⬇️

I‘m in the Cotswolds!!! I had to do a little bit of research because the name of the town is a fictional place, but apparently it‘s based on a Cotswold village.
