(Please ignore me in the pink dress 😖) This beautiful lady is my grandma, who earned her angel wings 6 years ago today after a hard battle with ovarian cancer. Every year on this day, I tend to spend some time reflecting on how much her illness played a part in my decision to go into medicine and how I hope that I can do her memory justice as I navigate residency and beyond. I miss her so much and it's worse today and on her birthday each year 💜

Lizpixie I grew up with only one grandparent, and I lost her eighteen years ago last month. Then I had a grandma-in-law who I adored (and adored me!) and I lost her seven years ago on 28thsept. I miss both of them every day. #grandmasrule💕 8y

stargazerblue49 @Skiles It's interesting that you bring up stories/doing things that they'd like because I've been trying to get in as much Olympic gymnastics as possible because I have great memories of watching that (and figure skating) with her. 😊 8y

stargazerblue49 @Trav I love our Litsy family! I am currently on my ICU rotation and some things happened yesterday that made the missing worse this year. Sometimes, though, I see my grandma in my patients and it reminds me that she is watching over me and knows that I'm trying to make her proud. 8y
