Vansa @mcctrish very late to this discussion but where I'm from,it's very much used as a slur. Both my husband and I have heard this,not from parents but relatives, neighbours,schoolteachers. If you're from a culture that does not value knowledge,or an opinion different from the mainstream,book reading is the worst thing you can do.Just last week I met my husband's cousin who said,“How did he ever get married,he's such an awful Bookworm“ I said I'm one! 4w
