Enjoying this nonfiction title during a quiet day at work. Did the father in this story make anyone else discontented or frustrated?

"My father & I looked at the temple. He saw God; I saw granite. We looked at each other. He saw a woman damned; I saw an unhinged old man, literally disfigured by his beliefs. And yet, triumphant. I remember the words of Sancho Panza:' An adventuring knight is someone who's beaten & then finds himself emperor.'"

It starts with a quote from Hansel & Gretel, but it‘s much more like Flowers in the Attic meets White Fur.
Ok, everyone... what kind of flower is this? 🤔. Looking for my next #readyoursign pick. Any chance this is some orchid?
On the funnier side... #dysfunctional #thereisnonormal
I‘m not sure whether I liked this book or not honestly. It definitely kept my interest and I couldn‘t put it down. It‘s a tale of what I can only describe as a weird codependency bordering on incestuous relationship between Jack and Josie, 2 siblings left to their own accord while their father works at a college out of town, and the after effects of leaving their home. After I finished this book, I just felt wrong for days. Read at your own risk.
😖 What a long, strange trip THAT was!!! Abused and neglected by their parents, Josie & Jack only have each other's love. That's not necessarily healthy for either of them! Think Flowers in the Attic with an edge. I was both intrigued and disturbed having read this!!!! I need a shower... 😫

Alright, the bears are in the mail and I can settle into a real book for a brief minute!!!! This has been a weird book so far. It reminds me of Cruel Intentions, with the strangely incestuous innuendos going on between Josie & Jack. All the characters are unlikeable, which I love!!!
Grabbed these two at the library today to keep my momentum going with #LitsyAtoZ!
One MESSed up sibling relationship! But a one hell of a compelling read
