Hello. After months of- perhaps close to a year -of not being able to sign on to Litsy. After many frustrating attempts I broke down and just created a whole new profile. Which sucks because all the people I followed, all the content created is gone. Anyway - here‘s to 2024 hopefully working out on here and to be back to building up the great community here I had before. 🫶
A very good historical novel. Lots of detail but compelling characters. I liked the matter-of-fact and highly competent Jayne, as well as her mum and Lady Stickland. This was a big book but the story moved at a good pace, with the right mix of drama and quieter scenes. And as far as I know, it‘s a stand-alone novel, making it a satisfying one-time read for those with too many series on the go.
Book 3 in the Dorset Crime Series. A murder takes place on a remote island that causes difficulties in the investigation of that murder where initially there appear no suspects. Another very good book in this fast paced series, with an interesting ending. @Tove_Reads
Book 1 finished for #20in4 and book 25 in #Rushathon @DieAReader @Ghabi4Roses
I loved the The Last Hours and The Turn of Midnight- 2 of my all time favorite historical fiction books. And just learned there is a new book- 1600‘s and female Dr? Did that even happen? I still bet this is a book I want to read!
Civil war has broken out in the Britain, it is 1642 and the country is being torn apart by politics and families are sundered due to political affiliations while the king ad parliament tussle for supremacy.
Jayne Swift refuses to take sides even though her family is also doing so
She is a rarity of her time, a female physician who tends men‘s war wounds no matter what side they fight for.
William Harrier has seen her work and quickly falls for her
It is 1642 and the midst of poilitical turmoil and civil war.
The king and Parliament are in a life and death struggle for supremacy while families and friends are torn apart due to their personal beliefs and politics.
Jayne Swift a lady doctor stays above all this and ministers to anyone who needs aid no matter whom they are.
Intrigued by this strange lady with no political affiliation she has taken the interest of the enigmatic William Harrier.
