Ooooooof. I‘ve been chipping at this extremely small book for the majority of the year. I‘d read a section, get depressed, put it aside, pick it up two months later. It‘s very powerful. It‘s very important. #bookspinbingo

I was on hold for the audiobook for months at my library. Some parts of this book were a little dry to me but it‘s written by 2 scholars/professors who are very knowledgeable, so I didn‘t mind. This was published during T‘s 1st presidency, & guess what?! He met every point on their checklist for authoritarian government! Big surprise. Would love an update from them now. Interesting info about different countries & their changes in governments.

Early voting is open in NJ, and mail in drop boxes are plentiful. Here‘s your reminder to vote - I know we aren‘t the only ones with an important election this Tuesday.

And you may call me petty, but I argue I‘m consistent. If you voted to make America great again, you own what‘s happening in DC right now. You own the shutdown, you own what‘s happening to benefits and healthcare. Sit with that and do not engage with me. Sit in your bigotry.

Interesting audiobook that was clear, thought-provoking, and presented me with other material to read.

All this time I thought conservatives genuinely believed they were the majority. Turns out they are fully aware they are the minority and just believe that the minority should not be at the whim of the desires, concerns, and needs of the majority. So much for democracy. This even debunks the grand myth that the American constitution is this great document of democracy.

This is what the Kock organisation has always said, but I think it‘s far more true for the majority of Americans. The fact the constitution is literally set up so that the least populace state is more representation and therefore power than the most populace state is proof that democrats need to stop playing it safe.
