The Murder of Roger Ackroyd | Agatha Christie
post image

Bk2 of my #BookHaul is another Dame Agatha special edition, this one is one of her most famous novels & arguably the one that made her famous. It has a locked room mystery, an unreliable narrator & a great lineup of dodgy people. And Poirot of course. If you only read a few Christie‘s in your life, this should definitely be one of them. #ChristiesCrimeClub

Ruthiella These are beautiful! So tempting to indulge! 2y

Pickpick

Bk10 of June & #BigJuneReadathon & Bk2 of #20in4 #readathon is done. The 2nd full Miss Marple story, it starts in St Mary Mead with the discovery of a dead girl in the library at Gossington Hall then to a seaside hotel where the girl worked. Miss Marple & Mrs Bantry go to do some sleuthing & show up the police. Of course! #BookspinBingo #ChristiesCrimeClub

Three Act Tragedy (Poirot) | Agatha Christie
post image

#NovemberByTheNumbers #day3 Just like she loved to use nursery rhymes in her titles, Dame Agatha also loved to put in numbers as well. I can probably do at least the first five days, in fact I know I can, after that though it gets harder. This is one that has a very twisty plot with so many different elements being used, finding out who the killer is is a definite challenge. #christiescrimeclub

The Thirteen Problems | Agatha Christie

#AndItsAugust #day9 #QuickReads I'm a fairly quick reader, especially if I'm really into a book. If that's the case, I can finish an 800pg chunkster in 48hrs maybe less. But if I want a quick read, a palate cleanser between books or if I'm in a bit of a slump, then any of Dame Agathas books will give me a quick read to shake out the cobwebs. Unless it's a Tommy & Tuppence book. They annoy me SO much! #christiescrimeclub

Bambolina_81 😍😍😍 7y
Sarah83 Why do they? 7y
Blaire She is also my go-to for a quick afternoon read or a way out of a reading slump. 7y

Starting (and lets be honest, probably finishing!) this one before bed for the #agathachristieclub I've only read this once before, a long time ago now, so it'll almost be like a first time. I'll have to check what book is next months, I believe we're reading in publication order? #christiescrimeclub

Bambolina_81 @Lizpixie Hope you enjoy it the second time around 😊 The next one is Secret Adversary Christie's first Tommy and Tuppence book. 7y

The Comforters | Muriel Spark
post image

#Riotgrams #day27 #RetroCoverFun Can't get more retro than these two covers! The penguin copy of Muriel Sparks "The Comforters" was published in 1969 & the Dame Agatha in 1970.For books that are the same age as me, they're in pretty great condition. The Christie even has dyed green edges, and the inner condition of both is perfect. They look like they've never been read, the spines aren't even cracked. Thanks again to @Robothugs #christiescrimeclub

Robothugs You're so welcome! 😊 7y
merelybookish I love the Spark cover! 7y
